Gamecocks LAND 4 star QB Ryan Hilinski from Cali today

Congrats to MSU for getting Shrader but I've always wanted this kid from California more. Gonna be a stud. His brother was the Washington State QB who killed himself a few months ago and the family will be moving wherever he commits to watch him play. Great kid from all accounts

Great pick up! We were going after him hard but it sounds like Muschamp did a great job showing off the opportunity at South Carolina for not only him but his family as well (pretty sure they're moving with him). I'll always root for this kid except when he plays against us. Seems like a great kid and I can't imagine what his family went through with the loss of his brother earlier this year.

We all figured this was gonna happen when MSU got the commit from the 3* kid up in Charlotte yesterday, who is a really good looking all-purpose QB talent btw.
But when Bo and his family took the MUSC visit while they were here it looked really good for us ... and his family wanting to join the exodus away from the left coast really helped us as well.
All the credit in the world to Werner, mUSChamp and BMac. This is a great commit for our 2019 class and he apparently was not scared-off by our depth chart with Bentley still having another year after this one, Jay Urich just being a RS Freshman and Joyner being a true freshman ... huge commitment.
Doubtful that he'll change his mind but anything is possible.
ETA: Oh, and thank you Jeri SPURrier. She still loves us.

Hilinski and his family visited USC this past weekend for our Spring Game, and apparently that sealed the deal. As you know, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Spurrier were also at the game, and Hilinski walked up to Marcus Lattimore while he was talking with Mrs. Spurrier, and she apparently gave him a big hug and already knew his name. That made a huge impression on him....

Joyner didn't scare him away, that's for sure. This kid has a great shot to start in 2020.

Werner has been hard on Hilinski since he was at Ole Miss. Another Hugh Freeze casualty. But Tisdale looks to be committing soon and Ole Miss is the favorite.
