Okay, come on. 13's easily the most level-headed Bama fan on here.

Nussmeier was reported as Bama OC on Jan 16th - 1 week after BCSNCG (as I said)

Ah, the official Universities release saying that Nussmeier accepted the job. Good thing Chizik let's out early information about his hiring process. It is the exact same situation.

Doesn't change the fact he's got something to say about everything auburn. It fosters debate, but it's rarely useful. Like state earlier...every little thing gets blown out of proportion and perhaps the Auburn recruiting thread isn't exactly the place for a bama fan to give his synopsis of the auburn coaching hunt.

+1

I just don't see this situation as one that warrants circling the AU war wagons and tearing into anyone who has a different perspective. It was a puzzling hire in regards to the timeframe it took, and it remains to be seen how it will turn out. Maybe it's a bad hire, maybe it's a good hire...who knows, and who cares at this point? Give the guy an opportunity to succeed or fail.

It's okay sometimes to take a wait and see approach in regards to AU football, as opposed to arguing tooth and nail over semantics.

I take it back. You aren't as bright as I've always assumed you to be.

BVG - Homerun hire. Great DC. Very well respected. Good recruiter. Film junkie. Will find things on opponents to attack that Roof wouldn't have found in a lifetime.

Loeffler - very good hire. Good w/ QBs. TBD on playcalling, but very well thought of in the coaching community. Hire looks better (perceptually) if it is made/announced 2+ weeks ago. Not having OC in place when Loeffler COULD have been in place 2 weeks ago allowed for negative recruiting against you (UGA, UF & FSU all mentioned AU having "trouble" hiring OC against you with recruits. It worked to sway one recruit).

You cannot be this dense. Bama finished its last game on the night of 1/9. Reports of a hire came out on 1/15. It became official on 1/16. AU finished its last game on 12/31/11. Reports of a hire came out on 1/22/11. It became official on 1/23/11.

Chizik had no information to let out. He had someone else in mind. It fell through. He went on to plan B (or c).

I just had some time to check out the last few pages of this war wagon/coaching search thread. Good info guys. Is there a good recruiting thread I can check out somewhere? I was looking for some new scoop on who Loeffler is visiting this week and who we may close with.

NGT, Gocrazy, Sandman -

Thanks. Waaaaay more AU posters I like interacting with than those I don't. I'm glad you guys didn't take it the wrong way.

As for the actual purpose of this thread, I still maintain AU finishes with a top 10 class. 3 straight in top 10 says a ton about the program's future.

That's the word around the camp fire. But apparently, FSU is telling all recruits that are interested in a Alabama school that we keep the black man down.

1. War Wagons fricking dominate.

So you think having to hire only one coordinator is the same thing as having to hire two and should be accomplished in the same amount of time?

And you called me dense?

By the way, fricktard, the official Alabama release was on the 18th.

Not reading through the pages of bickering to see if this was already posted, but TheJones (who has some sources) thinks Ricardo still signs with AU based on some info he is getting. I know he had a visit from our coaches yesterday.
