On behalf of my fellow Aubies we appreciate the way you deliver bad news, but we just don't appreciate you delivering it at all.
Now we are not a group big on sunshine pumping, but we do expect some level of pro Auburn posting in an Auburn thread. We have all voted and we would appreciate it if you would take your coffee cup, and find another thread to plunge into depression. TIA

That impact could have been avoided - specifically if Loeffler was plan A, which he clearly was not.

Agree with 13. I'm meh on the hire and taking a wait and see approach on this guy. That being said, Loefler could have been announced on January 1st if he was the first choice. Obviously we missed on some OC hires.
Still got a chubby over the BVG hire though.

Nothing about my post was not fact. If you would kindly point out the part that wasn't, we could discuss it.
BTW, Nussmeier was hired January 18th. Van Gorder was hired January 9th. How many days passed between the end of the season and each hire?

Maybe CGC missed on some offers, maybe he waited until Joe Pa passed away to announce, maybe he likes Sunday announcements, maybe he wanted us to sweat.
Not all secondary choices are bad...see Nick Saban for example. Bama wanted Rich Rod and he said no.

This is true. BVG's season ended ONE DAY before he was hired. Falcons lost on Jan 8th. BVG (clearly Chizik's first choice) was hired the next day.
The only point I've made is this: the Loeffler hire is a good one. It would have looked better had he made it 2+ weeks ago. Making it 9 days before signing day makes it clear that he was not Chizik's first choice. That's OK. I'm not flaming. I'm not saying AU is some horrible place that coaches are avoiding. If that were true then BVG (the homerun of the two coordinator hires) wouldn't have taken the job so quickly. I'm simply saying that Chiz either was misled by his primary (and secondary candidate) into thinking that they'd take the job if he waited, or he mishandled the process and lost valuable recruiting time with an OC on the road. If you don't think it was used against you in recruiting then you aren't as smart as I've always assumed you to be.
Stop thinking that every post by a rival fan about your team is a flame toward your team. It isn't.
