Whats the word on LB Javiie Mitchell? He supposedly is high on Mississippi State and Auburn and leaning towards Auburn. Why hasn't he committed yet?

Tweet from Coach Barbee.

quote:

AU Bball recruiting class of 2012 is ranked #24 Nationally and #3 in the SEC! They are all great players but most important good young men!!

ETA- Free AU/247 article on the new players.

https://auburn.247sports.com/Article/Barbee-excited-about-signees-48303

I was shocked by this part.

quote:

Asauhn Dixon-Tatum, a junior college center, is unique in that he is not your typical junior college player,” Barbee said. “He is a late bloomer who graduated high school at 6-foot-9, 190 pounds. Now after going to a Div. II school for two years, he is 7-foot, 230 pounds with a 7-foot-4 wingspan and a 36 inch vertical jump.

georgewhitfield George Whitfield Jr.
Auburn fans should know how dedicated Zeke (ZUES) Pike is... He will be here in CA soon to begin preparing for SEC as a QB! #grinder!

georgewhitfield George Whitfield Jr.
Zeke told his goal is to "improve on everything (big & little)". He will go under the same training regime I put NFL draft prospects through

Just in case there was any doubt in Jaquay Williams commitment to Auburn after his attending the drubbing last night, rest assured he'll be in orange and blue next year

Aubbies what's the story on Trae Elston? I know his top teams have changes a ton of times but I thought at this point he was widely considered a lock to Auburn.

However, I just read on ESPN that he wants to take visits to Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas and Auburn after the season.

First time I've heard this kid mention us since last April when he said he might take a visit out here so it suprised me a bit.

Ask Magilla, he knows a lot about him...

He's not coming to Auburn is all that I'll say (I'm pretty sure).

Interesting. Reading between the lines I am guessing he has some issues. That would probably explain why his top schools have changed so many times.

He either waited too long to pick a school or he did something to piss of a lot of coaches(not likely).

Clemson, Bama, and Auburn all stopped recruiting him, Clemson being his favorite for the longest time. He wants to play offense, Bama got back into the race for him briefly by telling him they want him as a WR, as opposed to what they were initially recruiting him as (DB). A few WR commits later and Bama isn't interested anymore.

I think he still winds up on D, but he's a good enough athlete to play either way. Nothing special as a player though, he plays positions that allows him to be a "star" in high school(FS and WR), but I don't see him being one in college...

We offered Stanford commit Graham Shuler today. His dad played at Auburn.
