Starting to look like we close strong. Goldman, Diggs, and Williams are being tweeted as AU having a great shot. The Armstead brothers depends on the SEC, then we have Kwon (who is looking less and less likely).

That is the possibility of 5 five stars to close with (Williams is a 6.0 on Rivals, not sure about the other services) with 3 being good possibilities. Everything never works out perfect, but looks like we should close pretty strong and be a lock for a top 10 class again.

Looked at a blog at our numbers breakdown earlier. It is amazing how young we are and how many talented players with experience from last year are freshmen and sophmores (our redshirt freshmen this year are a totally loaded bunch with Frost, Robinson, Westerman, Coates, Blakely, ect). Also looks like we have room for 23-25 this year to hit 85 if we have zero attrition between now and next August (when the 85 cap applies).

Personally, I do not think we take players just to fill schollies this year to get to 25. We only have 13 seniors and 2 juniors that might go pro next year (and I doubt either do). For the 2013 class we will only have about 20 available spots (assuming some natural attrition) before we oversign in anticipation of attrition.

Heard they're waiting to hear from ND doctors as well. Obvious question is what about AU doctors? Already gave the thumbs up?

Just so happens I know the team physician quite well at Auburn. I will pry around today and see what he says about the situation.

So you are saying, it is time to starting processing players?

Yes!

We have waited a long time to start processing and it may finally arrive in a year and a half!

Of course, it may only be a 1 year thing since the senior class of 2013 is larger with a bunch of 2013 juniors with pro potential. Then the 2014 senior class will likely be massive (like last year's senior class).

I really don't even care about Armond

Armond was good enough to start at USC. An NFL factory. He is no slouch. His senior leadership alone is worth bring him in. Since we have no seniors along the dline that might start. Bet he gets a good amount of playing time next season.

It's been a LONG time since we've been able to worry about this. Having a full 85 will pay dividends on multiple fronts.

Yep. Totally agree. Hate to say it, because it seems so far away, but 2014 should be our year. Favorable home schedule and a MASSIVE junior and senior class that have seen playing time (and a lot) since they were freshmen. Just like 2010.

Not saying we will not be good the next two years (we will), but that should be the best of the next few years with everything lined up.

BM reporting that Arik will wait to commit and NOT enroll anywhere for spring. We need the SEC to step up and do the right thing...

ETA: I took this as bad news because I do not see the SEC granting the waiver...

Yeah, I have no clue what the SEC will do and neither does anyone else. Everything is on a case by case basis.

Nice to know that AU appears to be the brothers first choice though.

Pretty much means that if they get the waiver they're going to Auburn. That's a lot better than the odds we had last week at this time so I'll take it.

I guess he didn't get the SEC waiver. Damn
However, it doesn't say AU is out for Arik.

Whitney Blaine @whitneykblaine Close
The brothers said the decision was too rushed. Armond will work on graduate classes at USC this Spring and transfer in the fall somewhere.

Just saw Jay Tate tweeted that Armond had/has the option to enroll into Auburn immediately.

No offense, but Jay Tate would be the last one to break that news. He's probably going off of what Chizik told Armond recently.

I'm sure he can enroll at AU immediately, paying his own way. He can enroll in graduate school like any other student.

Doesn't mean the SEC will release a waiver for him and allow him to accept a scholarship to play in the SEC his last year of eligibility. Have AU doctor's cleared him to play?
