How many of those are DE's? I know we have plenty of depth at DE, but I thought DL was a little thin?

DL will be a big strength over the next few years. Gabe Wright is starting to emerge next to Whitaker.

you're right... he's part of the ford, blake, lutz class, but he redshirted due to injury.

With the bye week, will coaches be looking to close on any recruits this week and are any announcements expected or will it be December before we get any more commitments?

Javier Mitchell is going to commit either the day after or the week after the Iron Bowl. It is between AU and UA but he doesn't have a commitable offer from them for now so I feel pretty good about him. As to the 1st part of the question I am sure they are but I don't have anything specific.

Should see it pick up in December, with most of them coming in January.

Dude, are you making the trip to Eclectic to see UMS Wright play this next Friday? I'll definitely be there with some friends.

Couple of updates:

2013 QB Cord Sandberg again named AU his leader today, and says he would like to have a decision before his senior year. Auburn mods continue to say our coaches slightly favor him over Jeremy Johnson and may wait on Cord's decision before taking a commit from Johnson.

According to Brian Matthews, Jordan Jenkins named a top 3 of Auburn, Alabama, and Florida in no order after his visit to Bama this weekend. Auburn must have made a huge move the weekend of the Florida game. I still think he ends up elsewhere, but at least we're back in it

Hmm, I wonder why they like Sandberg over Johnson right now. Both great players, I'm just curious... Personally, I'd rather have Jeremy Johnson but I am not on the coaching staff.

Sandberg is much more polished right now as a passer, and he's also more mobile. He may not have as much upside, but he seems to be a safer prospect.

I've been a fan of Sandberg since I saw him play Plant on TV last year. He was the 2nd best player on the field behind Blakely.

Sandberg is very raw. Would need a RS year and then time with Malzahn to work on his throwing ability. Has a ton of upside though, just raw.

Jenkins is either Bama or UF.

Not as raw as Johnson is my point. Both are projects and very good athletes, but Sandberg is more ready than JJ. Neither will need to contribute immediately obviously.

I agree. But he did say AU has joined the group to a Bama reporter after the game, so that shows we may be making a move somewhat.

I hope we get Johnson. The fact of them being projects doesn't really factor in my book with the QB recruiting we've done. I think Johnson how much much higher potential and could be an absolute game changer.

I'd rather have JJ simply because he's an Auburn fan and in-state. However, the coaches know a lot more about that than I do.....
