I am sorry you could only find 17 kids that are willing to play for Kirby in 2019.

247 composite takes into account all the major recruiting sites. It is the goto for anyone who takes recruiting seriously
Just to play Devil's Advocate:
The one plus that ESPN has over the other agencies is that it doesn't have any $$$ at stake for its recruiting. They literally just follow the scholarships, and so they're effectively relying on schools who pour literally millions of dollars into analytics.
I had discussed 247 in another thread because I saw some anomalies in their formula and often times they give no reason as to why they've ranked someone the way they have -- and the owner of the site seems to clearly favor attention to some recruits.
At the end of the day, I think the 247 aggregate is definitely the best way to go, but in theory ESPN should be the best agency.

I'm not a recruiting guru.
But when Tom Luginbill is your national recruiting director, then ESPN automatically has 3 strikes against them. The guy is an utter moron. He throws shite against the wall like most clueless analysts who are in over their heads.

I’m more of a micro craft beer nerd. Brown ales, porters, ryes, etc.

That's not what they do, though. Here, let me give an example: Player X has official offers from Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Florida and Auburn. The chances he's a dud are literally zero, because several teams that spend ungodly amounts of cash on analytics are all pointing in the same direction.
What's bad about 247 is they use their rankings to fill subscribers. That's what their whole model is, to make money and get people to go behind their paywalls.
All of their crystal balls, players mysteriously losing stars for no explicable reason etc. etc..
Again, 247 is the best for its aggregate, but ESPN (IN THEORY, NOT PRACTICALITY) is the best because they literally just follow what schools are saying.
Do you trust schools who make their money winning games, or a website that makes their money based on drama? I think the answer is easy.

UGA very well could end up with ESPN's #1 class for a 2nd straight cycle so I frankly could give two shits one way or another, Kirby is bringing home the groceries for sure.

I mean, I wasn't talking to you and why is it like Georgia fans have tourettes these days? "GODAWGSIMHAPPYWITHRECRUITINg, mlem, sorry."

That makes sense. I mentioned earlier, how I feel like they give a bump to the guys who play in the UA All American game, because it's on ESPN and they're trying to build more drama, but that could be wrong.

Really good point. I actually felt like that happened last year, when in between the December and February signing periods, almost all of our guys dropped, which at least gave a chance for someone else to take the #1 spot.

Which is entirely possible, but it's no where near the level of 247 and especially Rivals. That's why no one takes Rivals seriously -- they bump the hell out of people who camp with/for them.

Having followed 247 for a while, I saw it really bad last year for the reason you mentioned. A lot of times people say they're accurate, but it's really a crapshoot outside of their top 300. Those players also get adjusted for clicks and traffic.
Why do people think they added the Aggregate on their site? It's literally for clicks. I think the most any fan can hope for is that their staff has the right idea, educate themselves on the game (watch film for themselves) and come to their own conclusions.

I’ve enjoyed reading your perspective on this topic, StrawsDrawnAtRandom.
Well reasoned and articulated.

You would be wrong. ESPN has far less people covering recruiting and far less updates after camps and such.
ESPN tried to be what Rivals and 247 are a few years ago with each team with a sub site, hiring a huge number of people to do recruiting for each team. It didn't work and they were all let go. Most of them working for RIvals or 247 now.

I am hoping for the SEC to get the gold, silver and bronze medals in recruiting this year.

Congrats to ATM on having 24 recruits with almost half of them at 3-stars or below committed early to the Gaggies.
Meanwhile, Kirby waits and is ready to pounce on 2-3 more 5* prospects.

Wow. I'm seeing a lot of excuses ITT
What excuses? Georgia is #1 with 17 commits and Gaggies are #3 with 24 commits. FYI, UGA can sign almost a full class and it will be completed w/ 4&5 Star players. Kirby blowing the doors off the hinges.
247 rankings - UGA #1 - 2019
247 rankings - Texas A&M #3 - 2019

It is a superior class and was even mentioned as superior on the Texas A&M site on this board. We are truly estatic with this class because it’s a well rounded class that fills a bunch of needs.
Lighten up Frances.
