Harris is obviously reclassifying to 2020 and is currently ranked as the nation's No. 4 overall prospect in the Top247 2021 ranks. We'll have him slotted in our 2020 player rankings this week. As far as his recruitment goes, heading into this weekend's visit to College Station I'm hearing Harris is highest on Texas A&M and Georgia with LSU as the third program to watch. However, Harris looks like the biggest priority for the Aggies right now as those other two SEC programs are in the thick of it for other prominent 2020 targets they've been recruiting for quite some time. A great visit this weekend would certainly strengthen my stance on this forecast.

It'll be interesting to see where he is ranked in the 2020 rankings.

Yep.

ETA: You could've/should've mentioned that the big quote is from Steve Wiltfong.

Sorry. I didn't know who it was from when I quoted it. I got it from a Longhorn site that has a very long thread on Texas A&M recruiting. I refuse to pay for recruiting info, so I read their site to get A&M recruiting news.

Might be. I'm not sure. Regardless, it's a pretty small snippet.

FWIW, Current thinking among UGA insiders/experts is that there is a very real question right now for UGA as to whether we'll be able to make room for him in 2020. There are a lot of unknowns with the 25/year number with regard to this class and the recent grad transfers taken in Cager/Wolff. Some think we'd only be able to take 23... Even if we can get to 25, Harris' spot isn't guaranteed just from a roster management/numbers standpoint. Seems like we want him though and are trying to work through the permutations in the event that he wanted to come to Athens. He was a definite take for 2021 it sounds like, but 2020 makes things a bit of a challenge.

Bama was recruiting him hard for 2021 and in the thick of it, but has already loaded up on edge rusher commits in the 2020 class. So it makes sense that Wiltfong didn't mention Bama being among the top contenders now.

It appears we are in the same boat.

However, the reason he is re-classifying is due to his age. He'd be too old to play his Senior year according to Florida rules.

He only weighs 205 pounds so he's going to need some time in a strength and conditioning program before he's able to contribute on a consistent basis.

Heard this from a Miami dude a while back. Hadn't seen it in an article, but he's really plugged in, so figured he was spot on.

That's the thing I've been thinking about... There is almost no scenario where he can contribute in 2020, making him almost a guaranteed redshirt and even still may not be able to crack the depth chart by year 2. Of course transfer portal becomes a concern at that point.

Iirc, Harris will turn 19 this fall and can play prior to his birthday but can't finish the rest of the season after it.

The Big Dogs were recruiting him for 21, when he reclassified for 20, they weren't interested. Their 20 classes were already full. With his size,it'll be 21 before he contributes. If you need him in 20, you're not Playoff material

This is a bit of a non-sequitur. You could absolutely be a playoff contender but be reasonably well set at OLB right now with some guys who won't be off the roster until 2021...

This whole "no trolling on the recruiting board" is apparently a really difficult concept. This wasn't even funny... if you're going to break the rule, at least make it entertaining.

Undoubtedly the Dawgs lacks reading comprehension, as I said NEED not recruit. Those big dogs recruiting for 21 are already full up for 20.
