What do you think?

I do think the "Bama Bump" exists. Let me explain. I do not think 247Sports and Rivals bump Alabama commitments up for the sake of another top recruiting class. When I think of a "Bama Bump", I like to think of the recruiting sites taking this chance to make themselves look good. Nick Saban, popular recruit or not, will recruit anyone he feels can fit a role or become a star. If he takes a player under the radar or unknown, I personally believe the 247Sports and Rivals analysts jump on the opportunity of boosting the kid's ranking for the product of their site. It only makes sense after seeing it happen so frequently.

Agree, disagree, have anything to add?

No, it doesn't. We have a staff that is great at finding talent before other teams/sites do.

That was pretty much the sole reason of my post.

The analysts bump the players after finding out Nick Saban is high on their football abilities.

I do not have the faintest clue, but I do know he received a noticeable boost on nearly every site pretty recently, especially after it was rumored he favored Alabama - along with LSU and Auburn. As bad as ESPN is, they finally boosted him up into the top 50.

He got the bump after Bama chose another qb. Oh yeah, don't forget to mention ESPN just dropped SDH and Bo. ESPN sucks. No biggie.

On ESPN, yes.

They are terrible, and your quote above is about par for the course with them. I guess there is a reason they always seem to be last with rankings and updates.

Yes and for a legitimate reason too.

If Bama offers a guy, it's obvious that he isn't a damned dud. A Bama offer is a legitimate reason to give strong consideration to raising his ranking a bit.

Chizz he was boosted into the top 50 on ESPN because someone tipped Lughinbill that he's going to AU

Yeah I think there is a "Bama Bump." Not at all because they're Alabama though. Saban just knows talent when he sees it. Like Cody and Ivory. Cody was a star and Ivory is gonna be a really good contributor. I dn't think many other teams even wanted them. Saban knows his shite and if a guy signs with Alabama and keeps his head on straight there's a good chance he's gonna be good. I'd use his opinions too if I ran a recruiting service.

If Bama isn't involved with Elam, he is nowhere near the Top 10.

These players get bumped because of Saban's record with past players. Not all of these guys will pan out, but so many do that analysts give them the benefit of the doubt once they get that Bama offer. It's actually sound logic

Considering he absolutely exploded before he even got the Bama offer, I'd say no. He got A&M, Ole Miss, OSU, LSU, AU, and Bama offers all in the same week. And got compliments from every coach who went to scout him.

Yeah, because all the Bama recruits have been so inferior to everyone else.

The players deserve to be ranked high. Not because of where they eventually play, but for being freaking awesome talent.

Sheesh.

Not on any site since he committed to AU? You sure about that?
