UT has always been and will always be top dog in that state, period. They take their football serious in Texas. TAMU may have years where they do better in recruiting and/or on the field, and they may even get a little run where they do better for multiple years, but UT will always come back to the top. This isn't Ohio St/Michigan or UT/OU, or even Bama/AU we're talking about here; these two teams are not evenly matched in any way whatsoever.

There's nothing that A&M can do in an off-season of switching conferences that is going to change 100 years of history.

Texas has always been king but they had the down period in the '80s and early '90s where TAM was better but Mack has completely changed all that now. This new era of college football and all the advantages and media driven concepts don't help TAM in turning that tide anytime soon. Mack is the Saban/LSU of Texas. He reawakened the giant and there is no stopping that force now.

You guys may just be wishful thinking. aTm now has the luxury of playing with the big boys (SEC). I can see aTm taking Texas's spot as the premier team in the state. Being able to sell the SEC in Texas. Its hard to talk about programs in tough shape being a Tennessee fan, but Texas has had what, a 1,000 top 3 classes in a row and they have had a 5-7 season then a 6-6 season after going to the NC? WTF?

Yet, Texas is one of the top five programs of all-time and has ruled the state of Texas from the get-go. That, and they did it without being in the SEC.

Of course they have, I'm not arguing that.

If you don't see the GIGANTIC opportunity aTm has you're either blind or too big of a homer to notice it. Being in the state of Texas with recruiting pitch to play in the SEC.

That rivalry isn't so one sided any more, and after a few years in the SEC I think it will look a lot differently.

It's Texas man. This is why I hate them b/c they will always be Texas. A&M is just an afterthought to them and always will be. They get who they want in Texas
