Maybe Bru McCoy is going to Tenner.

Do you believe, had the twitter video not surfaced about him laughing about calling his ex-teammates "monkeys", Santino Marchiol would have been granted his waiver to play immediately at Arizona?

Still no one willing to answer this.

Only based on what I read, I don't think he would have been granted a waiver. The NCAA clearly states that there needs to be "documented mitigating circumstances that are outside the student-athlete’s control and directly impact the health, safety and well-being of the student-athlete."

I never saw that any of his claims were backed up with any sort of documentation. Also, if he did have a legit, documented case, the video should not have prevented him from receiving immediate eligibility. All the video did was to discredit him in the public eye, but it should have had no bearing on the NCAA's actual review of the matter.

When I looked him up I got this link. Does this answer your question?

He never participated in any athletic activities I believe. USC doesn’t have a strength coach either, so I’m not sure he even worked out with the team. Those people calling Bru a head case are ignorant. He’s a smart kid who made a mistake because of loyalty. He felt a sense of duty when it came to USC. He wanted to represent So Cal so badly he was looking for any tangible reason to go there. I wish Texas kids were the same in our down years.

He has been recruited by programs for almost 3 years, but chooses to sign with USC because of Kliff Kingsbury? He was their OC for 34 days. And now he wants to leave?

That's not the reason. That's what they'll say to get the waiver approved. SC is a dumpster fire right now and he wants out. He started leaning towards Texas after his visit there. His family wanted him close to him, but I think his heart isn't with SC anymore.

Congrats to UT. You're getting a potential superstar.

Approving a waiver basically opens the door to free agency in CFB. He needs to sit his arse on the pine for a year, because he can't make an informed decision

Now an assistant leaving is grounds for a waiver, then what is next?

Sit him. Period. Otherwise, it is open season.

And just for the record, Fields should have to sit as well. He made the decision to transfer - there are consequences for that

I agree with what you're saying. I'm just certain that he'll be approved. Fields and Martell will as well. We're right there with CFB free agency.

I hope you're wrong. It opens the door for a new level of corruption in college football. Recruiting nevers ends. Endless tampering. It's a very, very bad idea.

Fields and Martell's cases in no way could/should get approved. Those guys have been at their schools for over a year, and transferred because they couldn't get playing time.

Would set a worse precedent than this McCoy issue considering he's only been at the school a couple weeks and should technically still be in high school. The big concern I have with McCoy is how long would it be acceptable to be at a school before an unrestricted waiver was allowed.

Well, in true 247 style they have decided to just reset the rankings, and add Bru McCoy wherever he transfers to - this is of course at the insistence of the Texas moderators who promised their subscribers they would make it happen. Of course, the site is run by a bunch of burnt orange bitches with an agenda.

Gotta have Texas out in front of OU and A&M. Like clockwork.

They have to control the messaging.

Why does this matter so much to you?

If he ends up at Texas, and plays next year he'd be part of the 2019 class that plays right away.

The points shouldn't matter

Jeez, dude. You're a little too invested in holding onto your class ranking. Why wouldn't a 2019 signee count in the 2019 signing class?

Ale Kaho did the same thing last year, transferring from Washington to Alabama and he counted in Alabama's class. It's not like this is some unprecedented ploy to keep Texas higher in the rankings.

You're right, it's not an UNPRECEDENTED PLOY. It's something that quite frequently happens.

Here's the evidence.

The top 12 increases per recruit this recruiting cycle:

1. 1047 - David Gbenda - t.u.
2. 1022 - Isaiah Hookfin - t.u.
3. 775 - Tyler Owens - t.u.

4. 702 - Marcus Alexander - OU
5. 646 - Greg Williams - Clemson
6. 561 - Myzon Warren - t.u.
7. 542 - John Metchie - Alabama
8. 475 - Rian Davis - Georgia (t.u. interest)
9. 471 - Mykye Tongue - Georgia (t.u. interest)

10. 460 - Zion Logue - Georgia
11. 437 - Bryton Constantin - Clemson
12. 424 - John Battle - Alabama

Is it a coincidence now that it's almost certain that Javonne Shepherd will not sign with them, his rating all of a sudden dropped 150 points?

That's not evidence of anything I was talking about, which was about putting McCoy in Texas' 2019 class.

Short of adding McCoy, there is absolutely nothing they can do to overtake A&M in the rankings. If A&M signs Shepherd and Christian Williams, they still can't.
