people who watch film for a living think there are better ones out there.
I don't have time to watch highlights of a high school kid owning other high school kids. I mean I could find a 3* DT who is pwning kids on his video. 3A is not 5A. You can say it's a great year in 3A, and that is fine, but it isn't the highest level of HS football in the state.
What % of the plays on his highlight film would you say are against the best 2-3 teams he played against? Just curious
Highlight films are made to make a kid look good

It makes it a little easier on him since some of those kids are petrified with fear
. No one even attempts to tackle him when they hand it off to him up the middle. Linebackers are just like "have a nice day, sir."

No, he is better. That is why he is ranked higher.
Mack looks like a beast but to think his film is better than the number 2 player in the nation and the number 1 DT who also has amazing film is just silly. Mack has good film but if you watch Trentons film objectively you see some things he does defensively that stand out. That being said, both should be great players and it will be fun to see who ends up as the top DT next season. Based off 2012 Trenton has the edge according to every scouting service in the nation.

I just watched Thompson's film. It is also exceptional!
I think Mack looks more dominating, but that could very well be a result of lesser competition in 3A ball. (That being said, 3A ball in East Texas has some great talent.)

I think he would do just fine at any level IMO. Trenton plays vs 4A in Georgia which is also not our top level so it's hard to say either way. Both looked like men playing with boys.

I would take Mack over Thompson and definitely Payne right now but its close.
As for Leo Lewis, it'll be interesting to see if the depth Bama has at LB ends up hurting them the next two recruiting cycles with guys like this, but I doubt it. Saban could sell a grill to George Foreman.

The problem is that the OP wants to find an OL or DL who also plays RB for his HS team and blows by people. Most teams don't line up 300 lb guys at FB even if they could.
He is playing DT in college, so when you line videos up, you should be looking for quality DT play. It is a position that is hard to notice quality play sometimes, because they are often double teamed and don't "make the play" but rather take up gaps and force plays outside or inside for LBers or DEs to make plays
I honestly watched 1 minute of the video, and was very impressed. But I often am impressed with every highlight video i watch

Georgia is top heavy in most classes of HS ball, if we're honest. Texas and Florida are much more balanced, while also having a larger crop to choose from. Georgia reminds me a lot of Louisiana when it comes to High School ball.

This isn't the case as much as it used to be. Georgia grows every year and is now the 4th most talented state in the nation in reference to Recruits going to D1. The amount of talent coming out of Georgia these days is on the rise and we have good talent at alot of levels but 4A is not as deep as 5A sure. That being said, I am sure 3A in Texas would be just as strong if not stronger based on size and population.

Starting next year, Texas is going to have about 200 schools (these are schools with an enrollment of at least 2100 students) that are classified 6A. That's a first in Texas.

FB? Hell, TAMU has done it at RB. Worked out fairly well too.

Alabama only signed one ILBer this past year, Shaun Dion Hamilton. Lewis is better than him.

If he were committed to LSU you would be downplaying his talent dude is good but Leo has better film. Plain and simple. He's from ms so he hasn't really been scouted hard.

TAMU guys, any word on Mack's interest in AU?
Supposedly he asked his HS coach to send his tape to Auburn, and that's when we offered him.

That blocked kick is beast mode.

not trying to be that guy since this tread is clearly you looking for affirmation, but none of the recruiting sites have him as even their #1 defensive recruit so clearly they all think there are defensive players with more impressive film.
That said, Mack is a beast. A beast beast.

I was getting a little interest from them (AU), but I reached out to my coach and asked him to send them my film,” Mack said. “Getting the offer from Auburn is a game changer for me.
Auburn is the only school other than Texas A&M I can see myself going to,” Mack said. “I am going to visit them Feb. 22 and I am excited to see what they have to offer.
I saw a couple of Auburn games during the season – the Texas A&M game and the Georgia game – but they really caught my eye in the National Championship game,” Mack said. “They are only going to get better at Auburn, so that is something I am interested in being a part of.
I committed to Texas A&M back in October and they have definitely set the bar high for me,” Mack said. “I love it there, but I just want to see what Auburn has to offer and how much I like it there.
I am sure people are going to give me grief about visiting, but I have to do what is best for me,” Mack said. “I have not spoken to Kevin Sumlin about it yet but I think he will be fine with it because he said it would be okay for me to visit other places.
