not reading a 17 page thread so I don't know if it's been covered, but if any of you had paid attention over the past 2 years elite Texas high school recruits don't want to play in the Big 12 when there's a SEC team in Texas. A&M's competition for recruits is LSU and Bama in Texas, not Texas and OU.
And UCLA apparently. They burned us both on Whitley.

Not that difficult to me. Texass has been through a little dry spell, but it is hands down THE king of the hill when it comes to universities in Texas.

TBird how the hell are you?
I see your wife joined to keep tabs on you...
btw I would go to aTm if I had to choose between Texas and aTm as a recruit. I would want to play in the SEC against the best competition. Who wouldn't want to play Bama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, UGA, TN. Texas ya they have a good program and support, but I would be an Aggie.

I'm taking back what I said about you needing to post less last night.

Texas Longhorns- huge and loyal fan base, well known program with a lot of money, thelonghornnetwork, the longhorn brand itself, new head coach Charlie Strong ( great hire by the way). You also might consider that you'd be in Austin ( great place). You don't have to play an SEC conference. You also might consider Texas because they have to have a chip on their shoulder , because Texas A&M is stealing the show in the State of Texas.
Texas A&M Aggies- Rapidly rising program, new Lockeroom and stadium renovations, head coach, the 12th man, and just joined the greatest conference in America ( SEC.west) Also you might consider that johnny football will always be recognized with Texas A&M, and he really put the whole program on the map nationally. Also consider that A&M is close to being if not the best program in Texas right now.
Although I love the SEC, I'd choose Texas as a recruit today.

LSU sure as hell knew, as they backed out of playing us in the 90's like a little bitch after we won 5 straight.
Series record is 29-20-3. The team with 29 is NOT am.

People just don't understand the tradition and history at A&M. Texas A&M has had a better football program than tu since we admitted females. Why anyone would want to live in Austin over College Station is beyond me. Try walking around the A&M campus and watching the ladies walking around in maroon tshirts and even overalls on game day.

Yes. We. Are.
Sorry you are butthurt over it.

I am more curious about the idea that A&M and UT are similar academic institutions. It is pretty much not remotely true anymore and most of that can be thrown at the foot of their Aggy governor.
In the last 5 years A&M has moved from being somewhat close to Texas in the USNWR rankings to now behind SMU and is closer to Baylor than to SMU.
Most of this stuff is a bullshite troll-a-thon, but it should not really be shock that it is UT in pretty much a landslide.

You do understand that our graduates on average make more money than theirs and our degree is now looked upon as more valuable than theirs right? Not to mention we top them in return on investments and shite like that. We are a tier 1 university
