Alabama DL coach Freddie Roach visited with him. Overton will now take an official to Alabama next weekend.

I could see him thriving as a standup edge rusher at Bama in a different system and under a better staff. He hasn’t done much so far and struggled to get on the field this year

That extra year of physical development in high school is pretty big for DL, IMO. Don't know if I would have reclassified in his position.

Yeah in retrospect he definitely shouldn’t have done it. For Bama it means there’s still a lot of projection left. The physical development combined with his role was not a good combo here. It’s easy to see him breaking out there

I thought he was more of a true end. Guess I got him mixed up with another guy at College Station. But yes, Alabama needs stand up rushers who can contribute on day 1 because DT and Braswell are gone after the season ends.

That is how we played him, though Durkin would randomly drop him in coverage a lot also which clearly didn’t help
