Good for us, because the depth chart at aTm will kill any WR recruits for next year.

In all honesty, 9 WRs sounds good, but they need to recruit linemen if they want to win the SEC. 15 WRs on the team doesn't matter becasue only 5 can get in the game at any one time.

You didn't actually read my comment, did you ? I implied he didn't run the offense he wanted because he didn't have the personnel and that with a third of a recruiting class dedicated to WRs he soon WILL have that personnel...

OOOO you are going to judge him off an All American game.... where the West QBs couldn't get a damn pass off and RSJ drops one pass

He also had a poor week all together. Didn't live up to the billing. Could just be he hasn't played WR since he was QB this year correct? Being a big guy though it seems like he doesnt know how to use his body to his advantage. He should have dominated the smaller DBs all week but they just kept blanketing him and breaking up passes thrown his way. You can tell he has talent, but is super raw and will need time to develop as a WR, or probably TE with his speed.

Well that worked out, didn't it?

I actually heard differently. He had several good days and one real off day. No surprise there. Different element and no rhythm with the QB.

He definitely has work to do. I hope he redshirts next year. Our main/starting WRs next year will be:

Mike Evans - 6'5" 220 lbs - had over 1,000 yards this year
Malcome Kennedy - 6'1" 200 lbs - game clinching TD vs Bama
JaQuay Williams - 6'3" 210 lbs - #1 player from Georgia 2012
Cameron Clear - 6'6" 275 lbs - TE - Boom or Bust - We'll see

Jaquay was not the #1 prospect from Georgia in 2012. Hate to burst your bubble

Well, the numbers didn't add up for Quincy Adeboyejo. Basically, we traded a WR for a LB.

He was the top ranked WR in Georgia, and a top 5 overall in Georgia.

People like to talk about guys like our OTs and Moore leaving, but we lose a ton of WRs. Swope, Uzoma, Mcneal, and Thomas Johnson were key cogs in this offense. Basically we return Evans as the only starter for a team that runs 4 WRs most of the time. Now you can see why we needed not just a big WR haul, but a talented one.

Jaquay, Stevens, RSJ, Kyrion, Gonzales, etc are all some of the best WRs in their respective states. They all have a chance to see the field next year.

Does that take into account plays that were designed passes but Manziel ran?

There aren't any besides KD Cannon.

Hence why we stacked up this year.

It was critical for A&M to load up on high end WR talent this year and they have. Most of the big producers from this year are gone so A&M needs guys that can step in Day 1, esp in a system that runs 5 Wides often and 4 WR/TE/H Backs on most other snaps. This offense just doesn't work without WR's that can get open and make plays.

Another factor is most of these guys are big because A&M stresses WR blocking in a huge way both for designed runs/JFF scrambles and to make short passes into big gainers. As great as Mike Evans was catching the ball this year he was even more of a beast blocking. Lots of video of 6'5 Evans crushing 5'10 DB's this season.

It is still a very balanced class for A&M, every position is addressed. Honestly I am just as excited about the defensive recruits.
