Rumors going around that Jarret reached out to OSU before Mookie Cooper committed and OSU wouldn't take him into the class. Said he wants out of LSU.

Apparently a 247 bucknuts subscription article says the same

I'm not debating that was said, but I do not believe he was turned down by Ohio St. Jarrett is likely a future All American WR, no matter where he lands.

As far as LSU, if he wants out, he'll just decommit. Simple as that, so I question the validity of that as well.

OSU likes their WRs as much as they like Jarrett. I think that's a truthful statement. They were the 3 best WRs at the Opening (I know Jarrett wasn't there but a ton of other stars were)

Andrew Ellis of 11w said it wasn't him directly reaching out, to me implying it was his family who reached out to OSU, not Rakim directly.

This definitely seems likely. I’m sure OSU is turning away every top recruit that shows a shred of interest right now.

Now as I said it's a rumor going around, and there seems to be a lot of it going around.

OSU could absolutely have told Jarrett no, and they would be fine doing so. They have 4 WRs in the top 18 in the country composite and all 4 are top 100 players nationally.

Jarrett of course HAS to say this is not true. It may not be true but thankfully I'm not the one who started these rumors. I was passing information on

OSU has done it before with 5* players. They are full at WR in this class.

If he truly said he wanted in, you'd drop one of the others to make room if so. He's better than all your commits sans 1. To think you'd take a 5'8 guy over him is kind of ridiculous.

Let me guess he deleted pictures?

He does this before/after every visit

Well Mookie Cooper is a slot guy, and OSU needs a slot guy

Gee Scott is a huge WR and a different type of WR than Jarrett. The only guy who is similar is Jaxon Njigba likely, and he had 1800 yards, 20 TDs and 90 catches in the biggest division in Texas last year.

OSU staff thought they had 3 of the top 10 WRs before Mookie committed. They like and liked those 3 a ton, and the Opening proved they may be correct

No he posted a snapshot of a DM with him and Brain Hartline basically saying it’s not true

Rumors floating around he reached out to UGA too and we told him no also.

I believe Jarrett is getting a drama queen rep and, if true, coaches are passing on it.

There should be betting odds for recruits landing in the transfer portal. This feels like a dude that no matter where he lands you are destined to see him in the portal. It also feels like Auburn is going to be involved one way or another before this is all over with.

No, but that was a rumor that was floated around.

Seemed like sour grapes after he ended up elsewhere, but I do find it interesting that Ohio State fans are hearing some of that as well.

Think we can’t turn away 5* WRs, but we also can’t afford to lose receivers to the transfer portal and I think that was a concern in our recruitment.

I think that was exactly the thought process. Nobody denies the kid's talent, but he kind of reminds of Nuke LaLoosh- a million dollar arm with a 5 cent head.

I never would have mentioned it unless and until the OSU guys mentioned it.

Interesting. OSU is in a position to where they can be very picky with their last few slots. Not saying Jarrett isn't a top level talent because he is, but OSU has bigger holes than WR left

Assumption is they will get Ransom, Kourt Williams, Bijan Robinson and Knighton and will be at 24. They are probably in the 25-27 range total. Aim for the stars with the last 2-3 spots then settle for an Ohio kid if nothing works out, or bank them for next year
