Sean Payton did not want to lose him but knew he had to take that next step in his young career!

LSU has never had a problem getting great receivers.
QB on the other hand...

LSU has also never had this many good ones. God, we're stacked.

Good work LSU! Clemson was after him, but I think our depth chart is starting to effect some of these kids at WR.
With Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross, Derion Kendrick and the other two five star freshman, it's going to be difficult to find snaps for guys in this class.

Nice get! Is LSU putting a greater emphasis on going out of state this class? I'm noticing a large uptick in guys from states like CA. Is the in-state class not as strong as normal?

Partly. I think the current staff is also figuring out that they can't just rely on in-state talent and wait up to signing day for several top 100 guys to make a decision. That method of recruiting has bitten LSU in the arse in recent years. If Louisiana prospects want to play for LSU, they need to get on board earlier and not play games with the coaching staff.

Yes on both
La isn't as talented this year AND O/LSU have been burnt a few times with in-state guys stringing them out and going elsewhere.
You want on board now, better get on

Clemson, along with Bama has EJ Williams at the top of their 2020 WR board.Like Ross, not rated #1 by the services ,but will be after his college career.
As far as Jarrett is concerned, good pick up for LSU, but they'll need a QB and "another" OC Savior(as always) to not be the same ole same ole all over again.

LSU has No. 1 recruiting class in America
ByShea Dixon 20 hours ago
The LSU football staff now has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, and it’s not the first time they have held the top spot during the 2020 cycle.
On Saturday, Washington, D.C. five-star wide receiver Rakim Jarrett committed to the Tigers during his official visit to Baton Rouge, where he was joined by his family on a three-day stay. Jarrett is the 13th commitment in LSU’s 2020 class, and his pledge helped the Tigers jump from the No. 3 spot up to the No. 1 spot on the 247Sports Team Rankings.
LSU’s leap to the top spot included jumps over both Clemson and Alabama, with the Tigers now holding 248.43 points in the team score. Clemson is No. 2 with 245.47 points, while the Tide sit at No. 3 with 245.46 points. No other team is over 200 points.
With the addition of Jarrett, the Tigers have added to what is the nation’s top wide receiver class. Jarrett joins LSU commitments Kayshon Boutte and Jermaine Burton as three prospects ranked inside the Top 7 nationally on 247Sports, with Jarrett checking in as the No. 3 wide receiver in the class, Burton at No. 6 and Boutte at No. 7. On the 247Sports Composite, Jarrett is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver, while Burton landed at No. 7 and Boutte at No. 8.
LSU also has a pair of four-star quarterbacks committed in TJ Finley and Max Johnson, giving the staff a strong start on both offense and defense in the 2020 class.
The highest-rated prospect in the class remains five-star Elias Ricks, the nation’s No. 1 cornerback and a Top 10 overall prospect on both the 247Sports Composite and 247Sports.
The Tigers have put an emphasis on recruiting outside the state of Louisiana this cycle, and it’s paid off in the run up to the No. 1 class in the country. LSU now has commitments in from Texas (4), California (3), Louisiana (3), Georgia (1), Maryland (1) and Washington, D.C. (1)

The next several years of LSU WRs going against Florida DBs is going to be great. DBUe won't know what hit 'em!

Lulz.
Clemson has that title and ain't giving it up any time soon.
LSU is putting together a helluva WR room, though!

Ross is the truth and Higgins is decent but that's all they have.

This is what makes being a recruitnik so awesome.
Cannot wait to see the nation's collective wtf face when Ngata and Ladson hit the field. Every single person who has seen them so far has said that they're father along than Sammy Watkins and Justyn Ross were as freshmen.
It's going to be disgusting.
And that's before we even get to the fact that we've been stacking 4* and 5* at the position years.
No one is coming at LSU's DBU title because they signed a handful of highly rated CBs. It takes more than a couple classes to knockoff Clemson from WRU. It's inarguable right now.
