Saban has done this on 2-3 occasions.
1. He complained about the hurry up, no huddle offenses saying it was bad for the kids. 2-3 years later he adopted it and won
2. He complained about transfers; this year he has filled like 5-6 holes in his roster with transfers
3. He complained about NIL mostly related to A&M's "buying" of a class. Within 3 months of that, Bama has taken over recruiting again.
Saban knows what he is doing, and when he "complains" about something he already has a plan in place to make it better for his organization

Why would any recruit not attend every major recruiting function they can. The kid is a teenager treated like a god at those events. Just down the road from UA no need to be there every weekend.

His 2023 class currently has the ability to surpass that mark. Assuming he can land everyone Alabama currently leads for.
