That 2013 recruiting class and 2 wins against Bama sealed that reputation for Hugh.

He had tons of bad evaluations in recruiting and he had a losing record in the sec at ole miss (19-22 before the wins were vacated).

We got one a few years back that should have won a Natty and held up six fingers. It worked out pretty good for us then. I see higher ceilings with the recent hire.
Regardless it is something's that could never be achieved in Oxford!
To be correct we spoke with two coaches associated with your school on our last search. Your current showed his arse, tried to play Aubie at the last minute and proved his immaturity while all the time Aubie had Hugh in his back pocket and told your boy to FO!
The fact that it took that thin wallet of Johnny Reb, Black Bear, Landsharks to dig deeper to keep a 5 star at home does indeed appear to be a trend.
However, you can ask Aigamaua, McGriff, Jake Thornton, Kent Austin just to name a few. They will agree with you that there is a trend.
Just decidedly not in your favor!
I assure you Aubie got the best of the two. Time will tell for sure.
See ya Oct 21st in JHS. That place is going to be crazy!!!!!

Man Hugh is really putting together a cast of ole miss rejects. I didn’t realize how bad his staff at Aurburn is.

Austin wasn’t really a reject. Snead was considered a top 10 talent under his guidance and then he left to take the Cornell head coaching job. Then Snead threw 20 interceptions the next year

Kent Austin was Snead’s OC both seasons. Snead lost Mike Wallace and Michael Oher in 2009. And he was partying every night. I was at Ole Miss during that time.

Freeze is notorious for weak coaching staffs. Roberts and Montgomery are solid but the rest of the staff is auburn grads he was probably told he had to hire or buddies like Crime Dog.

Freeze’s coaching tree looks remarkably similar to most Alabaman Family Trees. If it wasn’t for cast offs like Thornton (Thank the Lord he is gone) it would be all trunk and no limbs. Can not believe anyone is touting CrimeDog after his time as a DC.

Some position coaches aren’t good coordinators, just like some coordinators aren’t good head coaches.

It’s really simple.

Thank goodness CrimeDog is coaching and recruiting the area he is best at.

I can understand maybe not liking the rest, but didn't Thornton have a good o-line at OM last year even starting some freshmen?

Run blocked well enough for the most part outside of the red zone. pretty bad in pass pro throughout the year though. strangely, the freshmen weren't really the problem.

Thornton is a very nice guy and up-and-comer, he was just a little in over his head at Ole Miss at times, especially on the recruiting trail. Some misevaluations in the portal and other areas are one reason we had to play two freshmen tackles last year.
