Looks like a bunch of CBs have been rolling in to A&M lately. His dad is a coach at Arkansas and his mom ran track at Lsu.

Can any of our friends in Arkansas shed some light on him? What are y’all hearing?

Edit: Updated.

He’s not from here and isn’t showing much interest in staying here. Kinda like the OT y’all got last year

Pretty small but really fast. He's only lived in Arkansas for like two years, pretty sure he considers Texas home. Thought he may go to USC early on but regardless never seemed like he was interested in going to Arkansas.

And that was even with Stepp on him. He’s just the #1 kid in Arkansas because his dad happened to have a job here at this point in time. They were in Austin prior to this job. It would be nice to have a 4* obviously but I’d be much more upset if they miss out on Harris, McAdoo or even Davillier since those are instate guys that we should have deep hooks in.

If we can get Sategna and Thompson both, I really do wonder where that would rank on the fastest WR duo in a single class in history. Both of those guys have elite speed, at least on the track.

As a freshman during the 2019 outdoor season, this guy recorded the top 300m hurdle time (37.67) and long jump (23-11) in Arkansas, and a 21.93 200m and a 10.8 100m.

Brennan Thompson has run a 10.2 100. Both of these guys are crazy, crazy fast. I want both!

It'll cover up for not getting Jojo last year too. 1 would be great. Both would be ridiculous, maybe even a little redundant.

That is what I am getting at. Our WR speed has been lacking a little. That is why Smith was a blessing to move back to WR when Achane took over the back up RB spot. We need some true burners to keep the offense dynamic. Satenga is that guy. He may not be Jojo yet, but he's as fast or faster with a bigger frame.

Makes me think that now that Mond is gone that Jimbo is going to start spreading things around more. This kid is blazing. He about to commit today?

That is the rumor. We will see.

To continue on Jojo comparison. Jojo could come in and be a playmaker day 1. He can line up all over the place. He's a baller. Sategna, I am not so sure. He'll have to continue to develop, but the tools are there. You can't teach 10.8s

Yeah I don’t think he’s nearly as polished a receiver as Earle was, but he’s an elite athlete. Thompson is probably closer to that level of prospect.

Sategna Thompson Marshall Antwi would be a dream haul at WR. Even if don’t land Antwi the first three would be great

Exactly. Anthony Schwartz got us on one of those in 2019 for a 50-60 yard TD.

As good as this is for Jimbo, it might be even better for Pat.

Fayetteville junior Isaiah Sategna is a sought-after wide receiver in football, but he’s also one of the top track and field prospects in the nation.

Sategna, who was named the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Newcomer of the Year in track as a freshman, is MileSplit’s No. 4 prospect for the 2022 class.

Despite missing his sophomore outdoor season because of the coronavirus pandemic, Sategna’s resume as a freshman is something the state hadn’t seen from such a young athlete.

He recorded bests of 10.80 seconds in the 100 meters, 21.93 in the 200 and 49.93 in the 400. He also had bests of 14.61 in the 110 hurdles and 37.67 in the 300 hurdles.

According to MileSplit, his 37.67 in the 300 hurdles is the fifth fastest freshman performance at the distance since 2000. The national freshman record is 37.22 by Thomas Burns of Miami Northwestern in 2015.

Need to add a few more of these soon.

Should be strange if his dad has to recruit a track athlete who is considering both Arkansas and Texas A&M now lol

I actually coached against him in Pop Warner when he was at Westlake. Pretty sure it was him at RB and Klubnick at QB, freaking ridiculous. I remember how We had a very good team and they absolutely destroyed us. If he got half a foot of daylight he was gone, our fastest kid couldn't get close to him.

The issue last year was a combination of limited speed and Mond being a very conservative QB that didn't like to throw deep often, especially if he had shorter options. Kellen didn't have a great deep ball, he could throw it but he has never been consistent with it all the way back to the Clemson game on the road where he missed a couple of open guys deep that may have shifted the game.

Now Jimbo has basically gone all in for speed at WR. He knows he has some solid TE's, a solid run game, and some guys outside that can catch. What he wants is guys that can stretch the field and force teams to play straight up instead of stacking the box. He is taking several of these track guys and all he needs is one or two to work out and our offense probably increases 10 points a game and we start putting opponents away a lot earlier.

Can't coach speed.
