He only caught 6 passes last year, so he sucks, and only a 3*.
BUT, is ranked near the top TEs in the country.
Watch his film. Looks pretty good to my eyes...

Could end up being a good pick-up for LSU.
Definitely better TE prospects out there, not sure why LSU is looking outside of the Top 15 in TE recruits.
Not a particularly good sign for the current state of their recruiting cycle.
Hopefully the genetics of being a "Taylor" will prove itself on the football field.
6 catches for 133 yards last season? Not a 4-star guy out of high school but hopefully Coach O's staff knows how to develop him. Clearly good genes and knowledge of the game. His stats don't impress whatsoever. And he's only 6 ft 3 inch without a vertical. Add 50 lbs...maybe a blocking TE???

6'4 235 and in first game this season just had 9 catches for 132 yards against a top national team.

The son of NFL legend Jason Taylor entered Saturday having caught just six career passes for 133 yards at the varsity level after missing some time as a junior due to injury. Taylor almost matched that yardage against St. Frances Academy as he hauled in nine passes for 132 yards on nearly a dozen targets in the win.
Taylor obviously has some good bloodlines as he's also the nephew of former NFL linebacker Zach Thomas, but there were some questions about just how dynamic of a pass catcher he could be in college as he hasn't exactly tested off the charts in the past. Turns out, Taylor can be pretty effective while working out of the slot and is capable of moving the chains after the catch, which is always encouraging. Taylor also wasn't afraid to put his face mask on someone Saturday as he served as a lead blocker on multiple occasions and was able to open up some running lanes for the Raiders. Stock up for Taylor, who looks like the perfect TE2 for Ed Orgeron's Tigers in a recruiting class that also includes Top247 tight end Jake Johnson.
Can start to tell why Taylor racked up offers from Florida, LSU, Alabama, Auburn in the last few months now. Already had offers from A&M, Miami earlier this year.

He will be a 4 star overall soon anyway. LSU getting stacked at TE position. Right now really thin.
