TE out of Notasulga, Alabama. Not sure why 247 lists him as an Athlete, but he will play Tight End for us.

The writing is on the wall with Gus at Auburn.

You forgot the "We didn't really want him anyway." BS.....If they don't go to Auburn it's because they didn't have a "committable" offer, whatever that is.

Nice get, I think we tried to get him. Seems like we slow played him a lot because we weren’t sure what position he’d play for us

So Scar was the only one that offered him at the position he wanted to play. That's smart, do whatever it takes to get him on campus and then change his position if it isn't working

Auburn has not pushed for this kid.

It's a great get though I would be happy to have him at Auburn but he wasn't a take for AU

Nothing projects insecurity more than not being able to simply celebrate a recruiting win for your school, but instead having to craft a narrative of defeating another (objectively more successful by every metric) school for the services of that player.

Amazingly, I’m here defending Auburn. Probably need to go to bed.

No offense, but I check your recruiting board because we go after a lot of the same kids and these comments are from there:

Eric Shaw is committing Thursday. Some thoughts that we may take him as a WR/TE and only take 4 DBs this year. If we do that its first come first serve between Kendall Dennis and Brian George.

As of this morning, KN is leaning against Auburn getting Shaw.

In your defense, there does seem to be some contradicting information about how badly Auburn wanted him. he didn't seem to be a high priority for them.

Also, every fan base does it. Miss on a player and "We didn't want him anyway." or "He didn't have a commitable offer." We have been accused of doing the same thing several times. Sometimes it is true, other times it is an excuse.

How about you look down just a few threads on this board:
