Just because the kid acted like he was going to choose AU to give SCAR fans some anxiety has no reflection of how hard AU was or was not pushing for him.

There are lots of time a prospect list us a finalist, message board frequenters will see this and comment to see what our interest is because he is a talented kid and it would have been exciting to land him, but as KN stated along with others close to the program "Auburn was not pushing for this kid"

I think it had more to do with not knowing where we wanted him. No knock on the player. Great job Scar.

Nice commit but Tennessee wasn’t actively pursuing him.

You'll have to forgive some of the USC posters, there is an obligatory desire amongst a portion of them to feel that they "won" a kid against other programs, rather than just being excited about the commitment.

This kid only took ONE official visit... South Carolina... He had some other unofficial visits, but it says a little bit about where they had him prioritized that none of the other programs were even interested in having him use an OV to see their program.

Additionally, this comment from the kid probably gives some insight on a key driver in the decision:
quote:

"A lot of schools were offering me to play defense or as an athlete, but South Carolina offered me as a tight end. They were the first school to offer me on offense.

Nice pickup, hope he is able to contribute early for you guys.
