UGA fans are. He’ll be a loss of depth this year and a starter next year. Congrats to LSU.

Why is he leaving? I know we were big on him as a recruit and certainly need the DB depth

Not saying we dont get him, but have a hard time buying the hype surrounding him coming here when we dumped him in the first place late in that class. We've been saving that last transfer spot for a while now, and he could certainly be useful for it, but at the same time, would you want to go to a school who essentially already screwed you over once?

I mean, we've seen stranger things I guess

Isn't he from Baton Rouge? Maybe he just really wants to go home. You can't fault for kid for that even if it may not be the best decision for him.

Oh I dont doubt he's homesick and wants to come back home, that was the reasoning many UGA fans already used leading up to this. I just dont know if that sour taste of us dropping him late in the cycle has left yet. Maybe it has, we have made some changes on D he might be interested in again. We got him to flip from A&M originally so no doubt he was very much wanting to come here to begin with.

His tweet has #MajorMoves followed by RipPops. Could be something related to his father passing? Pure speculation, but would make sense.

Edit:Apparently he puts that on every tweet. Although still could be a factor.

What are you hearing? Is he interested in being a Tiger?

His dad passed a while back, really tough story but a great kid.

LSU seems to be the landing spot as they have been in touch with his circle prior to this decision (not tampering, mind you, but letting old HS coaches know they’d be interested if the feeling was mutual)

Not tampering my arse. That is how the tampering is working these days - OU does this all the time. Talk to the people around the kid that influence decisions.

That’s how it’s always worked, long before a portal existed. It’s only tampering if someone connected to the program approaches the player directly. Family and former coaches are supposed to be the filter for all that inquiry and in turn they can either say “he’s happy where he is, stop calling” or “I’ll ask him what he thinks and let you know”

Yes, but now there is zero penalty for transferring. Before at least the kid had to weigh his choice carefully because lost a year. Now? My entitled arse isn't getting enough playing time - I'll just go elsewhere, and all these teams have expressed interest before I even put my name in the portal.

It’ll level out in the next few years when guys realize they’re not as wanted as they once were out of HS and as stories emerge of guys thinking they were leaving for greener pastures only to find the same or a worse situation elsewhere. It’ll be good for some but the majority will find it’s an unforgiving decision. Meanwhile, teams will find ways to mitigate the negatives by using it to their advantage with forward counters and, of course, plugging holes with incoming transfers of their own.

He got passed up by Christopher Smith as the starter when Lecounte had his motorcycle accident. Smith passed the audition, and i think it left a bad taste in burns mouth.

Burns would be option 1 off the bench in 2021 at either safety spot (cine will probably get a couple of targeting penalties) and the starter next year.
But i dont think he wants to be in athens at all.

Despite not being a starter, it is a big loss for this season and next in Athens. We were already losing 6 DBs off of last years team prior to this transfer.

Don’t think he really got passed up. Smith was ahead of him on the depth chart already. Burns was definitely in line to start in 22, but doesn’t want to wait.

Honestly shocked he wants to go back to LSU after the disastrous end to his recruitment, but it’s home, and the school is still a huge draw to anyone, especially the in state kids.

An insider told me that Burns was the guy in fall camp 2020. The source could have been full of crap.
But something tells me (i.e. the way that Burns left) that there are some emotions involved in this departure.

LSU staff really fricked this kid over. I know it's a business but seeing Major in purple and gold would be nice.

When you bleed purple and gold coaches won’t change that even if they frick up your recruitment. The kids been dreaming of playing in Tiger Stadium his whole life. And I’m sure Coach O is letting him know that he made a mistake so let’s all just move forward. Very excited about getting this kid.
