2020 Georgia QB commit Carson Beck explains how he used Florida to land UGA offer

He's taking a dig at Florida I would imagine? I mean, I didn't read...or listen to the link, but just going by the title it seems obvious.

Okay, time to get back to basics on this thread.

Bottom line: Georgia has passed Florida in every way.

Enjoy it lizards. You're going to be dealing with being Georgia's b**ch for the foreseeable future. Cheers losers.

Except for most recent National Championships, unfortunately Florida has blitzkrieged Georgia with that.

When you guys going to get one? All of these top 3 classes mean Kirby's got one coming in the next 4 years, right?

What’s funny about it? There’s not a rational human being in America that knows anything about college football that would take Georgia’s OC/QB coach over Mullen. Not one.

I guess Beck is crazy....like a fox.

Certainly possible as Kirby took us into OT in the National Championship less than two years ago.

Regardless, it will still be nice kicking that gator @ss every year.

Ah the old decade plus natty plug. Most of these kids were too young to remember that game so congrats I guess. Looks like it’s paying off bigly

Most of these kids parents were too young to remember UGA's last natty. But congrats on that vintage 1980 trophy.

the thing about today's hyper-in-the-moment, social media society is that once you get back about 15 years it's all pretty much irrelevant anyway.

-UT is lucky as hell that we've gone since 1980 because it takes attention away from their own shortcomings. To a HS recruit in this year's class that was probably born ~2001, is 1980 all that different than 1998? Both were before that recruit was born so he likely DGAS either way. Keep in mind, UT's last CONFERENCE title was 1998...let that sink in.
-Do kids today care about how good Miami was in 2001, around the time they were born?
-Do kids today care that colorado and washington used to be powers in the time around or before they were born?

No, they don't. All that matters is now. I say all that to say that the whole "1980" trope is kind of irrelevant in today's recruiting to today's teens.

Meh other fan bases say this to get under our skin and to make themselves feel better.

UGA is in a very good spot right now and that can and does scare the shite out of some opposing fans.

Oh I'm fully aware of that. In the later richt years when we stunk you never heard it as much, becuase there was so much present-day (at the time) ammo to work with. Now there are less and less things rivals can point to so its' the only thing they can fall back on. The day we win a natty AU and UT fans are going to enter a deep state of depression.

I thought it was rather amusing myself...

Never mind that the kid is not really a fit for a Mullen style QB (and is smart enough to recognize it) or that there is a decent chance that the starting job in Athens is open in 2020 - and at worst will be an open competition in 2021 after a redshirt year... the only possible explanation for a quick commitment is $$...

But but but a disgruntled gator recruit implied they must have cheated, so that must be true. Only in the mind of straws.

Fromm is a better college quarterback.

Feleipe will be drafted higher in the draft next year. I guarantee it. Nfl teams drool over 6’6 240 with a cannon.

From will be a top 5 pick and Franks will go in the second round at best.

. . . most likely a second day pick.

Nope. It’s all about arm strength and size. They can’t measure intangibles, where Fromm has a clear and distinct advantage.

How do you think Josh Allen got drafted in the top 10 overall? He’s 6’6 240 lb.

And he played at WYOMING against that level competition. Franks and Josh Allen are the exact same size, exact same weight, and both have freaky cannons for an arm. And look up his numbers. Franks plays much better competition and put up better numbers.

There’s a reason so many NFL steams draft busts at quarterback. It’s because they take guys like Feleipe for the physical tools over guys like Fromm with the intangibles. I guarantee you Feleipe will be a first round pick in the NFL draft next year IF he matches his production from last year. Not even improve, just match it.
