Actually, most everyone I know who has watched Ignont a lot in Madison didn't really think he made many plays. I don't really know much of anyone who is very high on him as a football player RIGHT NOW. The upside is there, but he's not there as a player yet.

Outside of Monty Rice (who I think is VERY underrated), I think this year's celebrated in-state LB class is one of the most overrated groups top to bottom that I've seen in years. Some solid players, but no difference makers, IMO. Looks like we're going to get Benton. His work ethic is the biggest question about him. Hopefully Pruitt's evals turn out better than Kirby's.

I hope we get Benton but if we don't, AU is still going to have a solid LB class. We plan on signing four LBs and it looks to be between Moultry, Wooten, Benton, Rice, Britt and Ignont.

I'd actually disagree on the LB class and say that the ones who started out lower rated are the best ones. The "elite" guys in the initial rankings (Ignont/Benton) both have slid way down but the guys like KJ Britt, Moultry and Monty Rice are the best pure football players at LB in the state.

Moultry did well at a recent camp, but I've not really been impressed with his film, either. There are a ton of "camp guys" every year that don't translate to football player. Maybe he'll put it together this year. I've not seen enough of Britt to know one way or another. I'm extremely high on Rice.

Overrated from standpoint of elite talent but in terms of depth of a class this is one of the more impressive ones I can remember. Usually there is like 1-2 highly ranked guys then not too much after that. There seems to be a nice pool of SEC talent in this year's class. I mean considering the fact we are all debating 4-5 guys as the best in the state shows how much quality is there just no one that stands out clearly above the rest.

Couldn't come at a better time for AU with LB a huge need this cycle. Now if only we can sign some of them

Losing Benton hurts more from standpoint spent 2-3 years spending a ton of time recruiting this kid and considered the favorite for so long. No idea how he projects to the next level but no denying he was a top target for AU that for now we have missed on

I don't know much about Benton's work ethic but I'm not impressed with his physicality(or lack thereof). He's very long, rangy, and athletic but seems to be lacking that natural downhill LB instinct.

I'm not sure if that's something that can be taught (even by Saban)

I like Britt then Rice then Ignot then Benton. AU may go 0-4 here if Bama takes Ignot

No surprise at his choice. Congrats, Alabama.

No state produces LBs like Alabama. But there are still priorities at LB beyond the borders of Alabama

You can have them all besides Moses & Allen.

I've been critical of Benton's work ethic as well (although still like him more than Ignont). However, he did dominate at our camp this past weekend. Hopefully that's a good sign for Bama fans.

Looks like we have 2 more LB slots to give and looking at 4 guys mainly (as we're not going to get McBride from Ga.).

Beal
Allen
Moses
Rice

I believe Allen is the #1 LB on the entire board outside of Gary Johnson, who's already committed. We might be recruiting Hamsah Nasirildeen as a safety. Not sure.
