I was really shocked when the Hogs didn’t go after him at all when he decided to transfer. He let it known he want to play at Arkansas and they still didn’t offer. Coaches must feel really good about the DBs on campus and headed to Arkansas
There was zero chance he was getting an offer from us after what he did in his initial recruitment.

The dead weight they didn't need?

He was talking about all the players that Arkansas lost. The starters they lost that were “dead weight”

Andy Boykin
T.J Flowers
Jermaine Hamilton-Jordan
Darin Turner
Ray Curry Jr.
Kendall Catalon
Nick Turner
Devine Bush
Malik Hornsby
Jalen Williams
Solomon Wright
Josh Oglesby
Vito Calvaruso
None of those players were starters and some couldn't get on the field. The only decent players that left from the dead weight were Malik Hornsby, Greg Brooks Jr. and Joe Foucha. Hornsby wasn't going to sit on the bench for the next two years and so that was expected.

Pittman prefers taking transfers who have playing experience when he can, like Williams and Utsey. Plus probably wants a CB who can play right away whereas Norwood is still learning the position

It just seems strange that Arky, who is losing all kinds of players to the portal (including a few DBs), would turn down a 4* home-state athlete.

What did he do in his initial recruitment?

He didn’t go to Arkansas

Silently committed to the staff then out of the blue committed to A&M publicly

The best recruit in your state is dead weight?

It wasn’t that simple. Anyone that followed his recruiting closely knows it was a messy handling of it by the kid. Doesn’t affect how good he could be but he wasn’t getting an offer from us this time around because of how it went down.

Kids often privately tell their home state school's staff they're going to go there for months and then commit elsewhere on a dime? Don't think most recruits string coaches along like that.

You’re wasting your time.

Anytime I hear someone say "silent commit" I laugh. Odds are the Arky coaches pressured him to commit, and to avoid having to motorboat the titboss, he did.
Someone tell me what the point is of a "silent commit." Is it like a silent fart and you can always claim it wasn't you? I mean, if I'm a coach and a kid gives a silent commit, I'm immediately skeptical. If he doesn't want to come right out and commit (and let everyone know it), then you know it's not a commitment at all.

All I know is that our 247 staff had the commitment story to Arkansas written for a long while and every time he was supposed to officially announce it he never did, then pulled a complete 180.
Weird situation. Doesn't really matter now though. At the time I thought maybe he had bad blood with Arkansas because Bielema never offered his cousin Tre who wanted an Arkansas offer but went to OU and got drafted last year.

So it's just some unconfirmed retarded messageboard bullshite, got it.

Yeah, it's totally unconfirmable, coaches are not going to risk telling "insiders" this stuff.
