The Lawson love comes from him saying that he had the best connection with OM coaches and Kiffin recruited him the best. Distance was an issue an if it werent for AU, he would have been a Rebel, just like Daniels, Mason, Barbor, Whitehead, Golson, etc. We fear AU more than Bama in recruiting.

Just looked it up, correct.

He signed with AU 06', and stayed committed until we hired tony franklin.

However, he changed his commitment to Ole Miss on signing day itself.

This did not happen, he was already decommitted for weeks prior to signing day.

Anyway, I was disappointed that Swinney screwed up the pronunciation of The University of Old Miss.

You mean if it weren't for him committing to AU almost a year before he signed, he would have went to Ole Miss? And this is the reason why Ole Miss fans claim that Auburn 'stole' him from you?

This is getting beyond the point of ridiculous... and you're going to have to take that up that #2 finish with Vol fans. According to them, he was already a silent to them in January while still committed to AU.

Might as well just drop the subject of players flipping commitments. Cant stop people from believing what they want to believe anyway

Literally no one has said this. I mentioned him in that initial post because WE DID have a legitimate shot at him, and I believe the primary reason he did not visit was because of his dad. It is my own personal belief that AU had a lot to do with that. End of story. Y'all got him. Now, STFU.

ETA: Most AU fans on here are pretty open to the fact everyone views your institution as one of the dirtiest in the country without getting all bent out of shape. Most embrace it with a "Yeah, so what?" attitude, and I actually admire that a whole lot more. Why don't you do the same?

I did. He was a private commit until his Auburn visit.

I agree. It's more like a reservation than anything. Just a place holder.

Kerryon do not want, give me Damien Harris, Nick Gibson, or Soso Jamabo but great pick up Rebs.

Kerryon might be more open to playing S at Bama than S at AU or RB at AU with a lot of depth (not sure of the depth at S at AU but can't be slimmer than Bama's next year)

Wait Lawson was committed to y'all at one point? I thought he as an auburn lock since he was a junior or something

I thought right before he committed it was just us and UT for Lawson.... That was a while back though so my memory may not be as good as I think it is.

Congratulations on the pick-up, Ole Miss.

Maybe Auburn will make a run for him late in the game, if it's OK with Jovon Robinson and Kerryon Johnson... After all, we do lose Cam Artis-Payne and Corey after this season, and Jovon Robinson after next season (probably).

Hang it up, Eric. It's highly unlikely.
