Auburn stealing player from Ole Miss is overblown. In fact, Ole Miss has actually stolen more players from Auburn when it comes to running backs

Enrique Davis was one of the top 3 or 4 running backs nationally and he was committed to Auburn for over a year. However, he changed his commitment to Ole Miss on signing day itself. Tuberville held his signing day press conference right after Enrique made this switch and this is the only time I ever saw Tuberville pissed off

Rodney Scott was original committed to Auburn, but he later changed his commitment to Ole Miss after Tuberville was fired from Auburn a couple of months later

Jordan Wilkins was also originally commited to Auburn and changed his commitment to Ole Miss after Chizik was fired. Peyton Barber subsequently changed his commitment from Ole Miss to Auburn in the same year

That's true, but Auburn has seemed to benefit from all the flips. We are butthurt bc Scott and Enrique ending up being bleh. Wilkins was flipped but it seemed like Auburn was going after higher rated RBs (that weren't coming off injury).

Tre Mason turning into a beast and a MS player like Whitehead being flipped at the last possible second was/still is a tough pill to swallow.

Scott and Wilkins were not recruited by the new staffs, being Chiz and Malzahn respectfully. Therefore they went to Ole Miss.

Didn't mean to imply that he was committed, just that there was significant interest.

Very nice pickup Rebs. I personally would prefer Swinney to Kerryon

How long until Chris Berman hands out a shitty nickname like 'Kerryon my wayward son'?

I dont remember Whitehead ever being committed to Ole Miss either. In fact, Mississippi State is the only public commitment he made before switching to Auburn.

I know Houston Nutt later came out and said Whithead told him he was coming to Ole Miss, but I don't ever remember him announcing that publicly. God only knows what these kids tell coaches and other people in private

Lawson himself talked about how much he liked us. Mostly because he and Robert were besties

Whitehead was a done deal to flip from state to us and then he took a late visit to auburn and stopped returning our coaches and other commits phone calls

Agreed. From our prescriptive, the entire OM fanbase had him penciled in until Auburn jacked him.

But yeah, who knows what was actually going on with his recruitment...

What's confusing?

Carl Lawson was committed to Auburn from March of 2012 until he signed in Feb of 2013.

How you think Ole Miss was on the inside track to sign him (as with the other names you listed), I'll never know. Even when he was a "soft verbal," he eliminated Ole Miss from a possible flip two weeks from NSD.

I did. He was a private commit until his Auburn visit.

He signed with Auburn once, then didnt he go to military school, then Juco. He had three commitments, didnt he? I think in the end, Tubs/Gran had moved on

He turned out to be a bust anyway. Just like Wayne Dorsey.

Meh, we are getting off track here. Nice commitment on Swinney and I really like him. I won't lie, but I truly am hoping he is a late flip to AU, but congrats on his verbal...
