Not Georgia with possible recruiting issues . Bama has good chance at kid. Only thing Florida has going for them is home town. Not sure they will even have a head coach soon. Good luck!

Georgia responds to Dan Patrick's NCAA investigation take (247Sports)

Mullen is currently trying to replace both of his fired DB coaches Ron English and Torrian Gray.

Not ranked higher by the Alabama staff. Arnold is considered a top 25 type player. 247, IMO the best evaluator of the recruiting services, has him rated in that range. As you know, the rankings are just a guess by the services.

I had seen this, but didn't want to bring it here. For better or worse, when you bring this kind of stuff here it just looks like you are desperate or worried.

I understand. I was kinda hesitant about it too, as some might think I'm trolling. But since Patrick put it out there, it seems like recruits could get concerned an NCAA investigation might happen.

ESPN's ranking differs enough from the other two that it's skewing his composite ranking:

Comp: #5 S, #106 player
247: #2 S, #26 player
Rivals: #4 S, #59 player
ESPN: #22 S, outside ESPN 300

The fact that Arnold is a top priority for UA, UGA and UF gives pretty good indication that ESPN's ranking for him is way off the mark.

That's false.

It makes no fricking sense, and the lack of a hard cap on signees just encourages teams to obfuscate and abuse every practice possible.
That's also false. Here's the "obfuscated" truth:

On this site's Alabama Sports Board, the pinned Tide FB Recruiting & Roster thread's first-page posts thoroughly and accurately document how all Bama players (2018-2021) count toward the NCAA 25 signing and initial counters limits and the 85 total counters limit, including all pertinent NCAA Bylaws along with explanations of them. Everyone is welcome to read it.

That doesn't show anything, that is just an attempt to cover the truth with lots and lots of verbiage. Absolutely useless and proves nothing pro or con.

A++ work on y'all's recruiting thread dude. The IC breakdown, etc.

How does the voluntary withdrawal replacement piece mesh with the Walk-on two year restriction? My understanding was if a walk on was given a scholarship before two years on campus, they were then treated as an IC. (Two recent examples where this came up for Georgia are Hot Rod and Stetson Bennett, who both publicly were asking/demanding scholarships but we supposedly were handcuffed?)

I'm highly curious because I'm imagining we'll need to figure it out for Pod now also.

You know, sometimes I think these guys don't fully understand the affect they have on people. They get so caught up on trying to get a scoop, or get clicks by saying something crazy they forget how seriously it can affect the recruit and/or fans.

Thanks for bringing the info here.

Good question.

It's an exception rule. If the withdrawal occurs before the fall term and season, then you must already be a walkon for 1 year to initially receive the replacement scholly for that fall term. Any walkon can initially receive it for that withdrawal after that fall term. Detailed explanation of how one can be awarded to a walkon after his first term. Key caveat: To avoid counting toward the signings limit, don't sign an NLI or aid agreement (initially enroll as a walkon).

Perhaps some don't care. Perhaps some want to do damage. Perhaps some understand and feel an exposé is warranted. Perhaps Patrick knows his source's info is reliable and thereby felt he should report it. Perhaps UGA will opt to sue for slander.
