I did see somebody (the newsletter) postulate (big word, huh?) that that line of thought was being pushed because Florida felt they were out of it. To save face, so to speak. I would be willing to bet, that if Arnold chooses Florida they will make room for him.

Mullen's living in the transfer portal. That's okay and can work for stop gap measures but if you ever start missing it can get ugly fast. And, if you live in the TP too long players hesitate to sign with you on signing days thinking you will bring someone in from the TP over them.
TLDR
Good short term strategy, but bad long term strategy.
