Raymond brought a ton of talent to Baton Rouge. There's no doubt. It's also fair to mention that he flirted with other jobs every year just to get more money. It's also worth mentioning that Aranda demoted him to CB coach only.

And the culture of players quitting was strongest at corner.

I was not aware of all of that. Don't get me wrong. Georgia tried to pull him (Raymond) in this past season. (I think) I was, at one time hoping we could land him. But after I thought about how LSU's secondary looked the last two years I definitely had my doubts. It will be interesting to watch the Florida secondary the next couple of years, though. Maybe all he needed was a change of scenery? We'll see, I guess.

The whole defense was fricking terrible. Also, if you didn’t notice, a total buffoon was leading the program. Everybody mentions all the bad things but don’t mention all the talent he brought to LSU, the players he got drafted, etc. really the only bad thing in his resume is the last two years, one of which was a covid year and the other was with a dead man walking. Those two years he also had Bo Pelini and a new DC. Nobody was complaining about him when he had Aranda leading the defense. Almost like a good defensive coordinator matters for position coaches

All true and legit points. I just keep remembering all the times a WR was running loose in the secondary and no defensive player in sight. It was startling.

But, you made legit points. I guess we will know more in a couple of years. He did bring a ton of talent to LSU, though, there is no denying that.

FWIW, Josh Newberg just put in CBs for the following prospects: AJ Harris to Georgia. Tony Mitchell to Alabama. Cormani McClain to Alabama.

Newberg ended up changing all 3 picks to Florida one day before he left, I called it as the kiss of death in here when it happened

He’s already had 12 different leaders. It doesn’t matter who leads in June.

In regards to Tony Mitchell, he could commit to A&M tomorrow but come signing day the only thing that matters is Thompson.

I'm not saying that just because he's leaning towards AM

So you are saying the only reason a&m fans feel confident about Mitchell is they are willing to buy him to sign with a&m. Got it and thanks for the clarification.

At least one fan is not denying how it works in College Station to get a 5 star recruit
