When it was first posted Auburn hired Bobo I said this likely makes Gunner Stockton an AU lean.
He’s a gritty player and has mobility. Will be a fine QB for whoever gets him.

It cost us Stockton, but Beamer telling Bobo to go stick it was the best decision I have seen a HC make here in a long time. We need guys that want to play for USC not for a coach. You can't make a hiring decision based on a recruit.
We have had multiple elite 11 blue chip QB's the past decade (Mitch, McIlwain, Nunez, Bentley, Hilinski) and they have all not worked out, meanwhile our best QB ever Shaw that Beamer recruited was a 3*.
Shane is making the right moves and will get his guy in there anyway, guy is a winner and installing a winning culture. Sit back and enjoy the ride Gamecock nation!
As for Stockton wish him all the best wherever he goes, based on the Shaw connection I am a fan!

If we have a decent year offensively I’m sure we are still in the running. It makes sense for a kid to step back after the whole staff he committed to leaves. Honestly I don’t really see why Gamecock fans are mad at the kid. Yes commit to a school, but when the whole staff leaves, that’s a little different

Gunnar Stockton will end up at Alabama, Georgia, or Clemson

Clemson is after Ty Simpson; they haven’t offered Stockton. Might change if Simpson goes elsewhere, but it sounds like they’re in pretty good shape.
