If Clemson offers Klubnik he will commit. He’s been waiting on them

King's only prime time high school appearances were pretty rough. I watched his meltdown againt Dallas Jesuit in the playoffs.
He seems to have amazing physical tools though and has been in a college practice and strength and conditioning environment for some time now. I can't see any scenario where Weigman gets freshman playing time except in a blowout loss/win (like King's one drive against Bama).
He also led Longview to a 35-34 State Title win to cap off an incredible season the year before. King had a disappointing Sr year where he was forced to try and do it all and that didn't work against the elite teams.
King is as fast as anyone on the roster, is a coaches kid, and has won big games under pressure. He isn't perfect though and he struggled his senior year where he lost a lot of the tools around him.
So the question is what environment is he coming into if he is the starter? If we were expecting him to be JFF right off the bat and win games singlehandedly then that's a recipe for disaster. If the expectation is he will have an All SEC RB, TE, and a lot of other talent surrounding him to go with a solid defense and he needs to manage the offense while making some plays on occasion then I feel really good about him.
King will need to learn all the complexity of the Jimbo offense but his wheels are a potential game changer. The key is if the OL can be good enough around him and he doesn't try to do too much. If he has protection and lets the game come to him he will be very, very good.

i always felt like king would end up at WR. his pedigree is similar to chad shroeder. If hes truly the defacto starter going into the spring, i cant help but wonder just how bad the goergia kid is

It’s so funny how polar opposite the narrative on King is from inside the program and from outside the program. King was hurt his senior year and played through it, and his supporting cast was pretty bad. He went into his senior year as a 5 star, then (because of the injuries and bad supporting cast) had some disappointing showings. (They still went 11-1, mind you). All the sudden, losers on this site think he’s a WR, that he’s a sucky QB.
Meanwhile, inside the program, the talk from day one is that when he knows the offense he’s gonna be an upgrade from Mond, that’s he’s killing it in practice.
Whatever the case, we’ll see in a few months.

I think y’all are better off with Calzada than King. Outside of having some mobility, I just don’t see him being effective enough in the SEC as a passer. His motion is really awkward and I’m not sure how accurate he can be with a funky delivery. Mond was very robotic and couldn’t carry a team, but he seemed to take care of the ball and make more plays than given credit for.

Maybe you’re right. We’ll see. I’m just telling you that word from inside the program is that King is great. Most everybody in the program expects him to win the starting job.
That said, there have been countless QBs, from every program, who got a ton of practice hype and never delivered. We’ll see.

Getting back to Weigman he moved way up Rivals new rankings ... Near the 5* range if he has a good Fall

I think Rivals usually cuts of their 5* around 30-35. It shouldn't take much more to get there.

Some of those Rivals re-rates are pretty amazing.
Both Weigman and Klubnick jumped massively. I think Klubnick jumped over 100 spots in the latest rankings.

He did and I don’t think that’s unwarranted. He’s good. They just screwed up his position last time they ranked him.

It's because Ketch thought they were getting Klubnik and the kid jumped all the way up to the top of his rankings as a result. Kid is good, but the patterns should be obvious by now

Clemson may be shifting attention to Klubnik.
Sounds like no one is sure what Simpson in TN is doing Friday, and Clemson told him they were only taking one. He postponed him announcement from last Friday and blamed it on the weather.
If Simpson goes to Bama or Tenn, Clemson will immediately offer Klubnik.

Can you post some practice footage of him?

I feel like it’s appropriate for Lsu fan to address Haynes as King.

Hell of a get for Clemson.

Conner Weigman shows out at Elite 11 despite playing baseball right now, and earns a ticket to the Finals. Howard Walker was at the same event and also earned his pass
