Probably because we have Fromm (soph) and Fields (freshman).

But y'all were pushing hard for Max Johnson in 2020.

And by your logic, you're simply not going to take a QB in the next 2 years? That's not very smart.

I never said we didn't try and land him.

No, my logic is he doesn't want to come to UGA and sit behind those two I listed. We've got one qb already committed this year and will aim for 1 or 2 next year.

Does he fit in Freeze's style of O though? He's not very mobile.

oh. Gotcha. Sorry. I misunderstood your first response.

Fromm and Fields being there doesn't seem like a great reason to exclude you since by the time he gets to campus Fromm will be a senior and Fields will be a junior, assuming they're both still there.

Fromm, Fields, and Plumlee. Although I don't think Fields will be at UGA beyond next year if he doesn't earn the starting job. He'll take a redshirt and move on. Plumlee is a player, but he's small. I don't know if he will ever be good enough to be a starter at UGA.

I doubt that has anything to do with it. UGA staff never seemed to make Bailey a priority. After Eason, they're trending toward quarterbacks with better mobility. Not necessarily all dual threat recruits, but guys who can be a threat to do some damage when the defense ignores the run option and move better in the pocket. For 2020 I think they liked Max Johnson over Bailey.

I agree, I forgot he was a 2020 kid but I've saw it somewhere that he didn't want to come in here and follow them. He's never really been interested in UGA from my understanding anyways.

UGA isn’t recruiting pure pocket passers. They were never in it for Bailey. They recruited Max, but he’s a project, similar to Brice Ramsey. Big arm, but limited stats

Kid and his dad not worth it. Can't even win with a loaded Marietta team.

True

Most of that is him getting hurt. The other part is that staff is the Butch Jones of high school football. Good at recruiting, not so good at coaching.

You have any thoughts on ideal QB targets for us in 2020 in state? You've usually got a good finger on the pulse for who's legit.

Bailey seemed to not even be an option from pretty early on.

Congrats Vols. Not looking forward to seeing him in Prison orange. Under Mac, he was always the future hope for a decent QB off in the distance.
