quote:the whole Jr/Soph/Fr comparison doesn't hold water in this scenario because the DC now isn't teaching close to the same defense as Holland's FR and Soph years. He's still learning the defense just like a FR or Soph would be.
not to rehash the last few pages, but it wasn't just me who said he can't get players lined up. Holland was pretty much called out publicly by BVG saying he is struggling to get the defense lined up. I'll give him a pass as a freshman, but it never clicked last year and it appears it hasn't clicked with him yet this year. At some point, he either gets it or he doesn't.

Just read a few notes from Bryan Matthews...
He thinks AU has backed off of Kearse, but would still listen if he chose to visit.
Still believes AU to be in very good shape for both Adams and Matthews...thanks mostly to Rueben Foster...
And expects Derrick Green and Tyrone Crowder to wait until after the season or late fall to announce...

Hard for me to get pumped about 16 year old that won't see the field for 3 or 4 years or may never end up at auburn
I know the same can be said for the 2013 class, just hard for me to get pumped about 10th and 11th graders

You know in Reuben Foster's press conference where he changed his commitment but couldn't say enough nice things about the Bama and the Bama coaches (i.e. appreciating and respecting the attention that others have provided him)?

Come on now, you mean where he read the one used by a former Auburn decommit? I've got no problem with it, but I wouldn't exactly use that as trying to lay it on thick with praise for Alabama.

Post from StatTiger in response to a fan claiming it's impossible for AU to win 10....his responses are in bold....good stuff:
to the people that are predicting a 10+ win season -before the bowl- you are delusional.
absolutely delusional.
It's
not delusional at all. By saying it's absolutely delusional is to
suggest it's virtually impossible. Auburn fans saw AU go 10-2 in 1974
after going 6-6 the year before. AU fans saw AU go 9-3 in 1982 after the
Tigers went 5-6 the year before. Auburn went 11-0 in 1993 after posting
a 5-5-1 record the season before. Auburn went 13-0 in 2004 after an 8-5
season the year before. AU went 14-0 in 2010 after an 8-5 season the
year before. It has been accomplished multiple times in the past, which
means it is indeed possible. This is not to say, Auburn will win 10
games during their first 12 games this coming season but it's not
delusional to believe it is possible.
i
just don't see it whatsoever, especially considering this team will need
to grow into their roles and learn these new systems. i think we are
going to really struggle for the first month or so, at least.
The
new systems being installed are complicated but it's not like the
players will be expected to run the entire offense and defense to begin
the season. Both coordinators will continue to expand on their systems
as the season progresses. Once again, history has shown the offense to
improve by an average of 16.1 percent during 5 of the last 6 OC changes
at Auburn.
we just have too few upperclassmen to be able
to catch onto new, more complex systems this fast. i think it will
take most of the year to be honest.
Though AU will
have a small senior class, they have more returning starters than any of
their opponents. Only 3 of their 12 opponents will have more players
with at least 20 games of experience. AU will have more returning
letterman than 7 of their opponents. Only 2 of their opponents have
recruited more 4 & 5 star rated players over the past 4 recruiting
classes than Auburn.
i just hope for 8 wins with
the possibility of a 9th at the bowl, but wouldn't be surprised if we
win fewer. i think 8 or 9 wins would be a pretty great job on our
coaches parts.
Though I believe 8-9 wins is the
probable ceiling during the regular season , it would not shock me for
the Tigers to win 10 games. I see obvious concerns for this team but no
glaring weaknesses as of yet. Since 2000, Auburn has compiled a 61-17
record during even ending years and 49-27 during seasons with an odd
ending year.
2013 is the year for us.
Again,
I'm not saying you are wrong in predicting 8 wins at the most during
the regular season but I do believe you are wrong to suggest other
posters are delusional because they believe AU could win as many as 10.

If he was a former decommit, that would mean he would've gone back to Auburn and enrolled there.
He's just a former commit.

TT's took care of this.
you should have stuck to the fact that he was a former recruit.

That show how strange our schedule is...
Next year (Odd Years)our SEC games at home are Alabama, Ole Miss, MSU, and Vandy... Road games to Arkie, TAMU, UGA, and LSU... (Reversed this year)
