Honestly, no... I think that was all Malzahn. I'm probably wrong, but I got no clue.

It wouldn't surprise me if AU wasn't recruiting him anymore. He fits more of Malzahn's O than Loeffler's IMO.

Bryan Matthews said a couple weeks ago that after evaluation, Sandberg and Johnson remained high on Loeffler's board and would continue to be recruited, but there are others that have been evaluated higher by Loeffler

I'm sure there are some kids nationally that are higher.

How can you possibly judge that Wallace is a better person than Pike? Have you met Pike? For that matter, have you met Wallace?
Look, I respect that you are entitled to your opinion, but it seems pretty obvious that you are prejudiced.
One other thing: talent evaluators look for potential, and Pike has a lot of it. He hasn't been playing QB but for a year or two, and he hasn't had very much coaching on his mechanics and such.
But that's okay. Believe whatever you want.

Idk if y'all have said this, but Auburn got a basketball commitment today from a 6'3 SG named Brian Greene.
I think he's a PG/SG.
And I think we're gonna need him cuz I hear rumblings that Varez Ward may be a goner.

Yes. It is not that difficult. Wallace > Pike. Not only in throwing the ball, but Wallace is a better person than Pike.
Having run into Pike at Boubon St I approve of this message. Pike is everything you could ever dream of in a toolbag. He's the dumbass who actually uses his stupidity to pick up women. I hope we recruit hard for a big time qb for 2013 bc Pike will be gone before he graduates.

His assumption is probably fairly accurate. Last time I checked Wallace wasn't thrown out of a 7-on-7, suspended for multiple games, or generally disliked by teammates. You can play up Pike's upside all you want; but the kid was a Grade A toolbag in highschool.

I didn't realize he was disliked by teammates. That part worries me. I can understand if he's being a kid and letting immaturity get the better of him, but if he's not getting along with his team, then something is wrong.

...and to end all argument; I think the QB that we end up signing in this class ends up being the next in line...not Pike OR Wallace.

Agreed. Pike and Wallace will serve as depth

Yeah, I must admit that the very thought has crossed my mind once or twice before I knew the extent of Pike's apparent character issues. If he doesn't mesh with the AU players any better than he did with his high school teammates, then he probably won't even be on the team for too long.

What in the world were you doing at Bourbon St in the first place?
Everythng I have heard from Tiger Hosts to girls I know has been awful about him. Heard his teammates don't even put up with his shenanigans. He is an absolute tool and it is hard to believe he didn't deserve any of his ,multiple suspensions and ejections. Those people don't work hard in the weight room or in practice typically.
So Wallace, just by not being crappy enough to have bad things to say about him is better than Pike by default. Hard to be that low

Damn, I had heard Pike was a douche, but I didn't know it was that bad. Why would Chiz even sign him?
Anyway, I came here to ask about Liner. What are you guys hearing about him? Is he rock solid in the eyes of the Auburn recruiting folks?

Because cutting a player before signing day, especially an early recruit, looks horrible. Also a lot of the fan base is excited thinking he could be the next tebow. Had to sit my girlfriends little 10 year old brother and explain to him Pike sucks. Also, if someone basically revamps his entire throwing motion and mechanics and convinces him to stop being a little prick, he has considerable upside. I just don't see it happening when he spends more time at the bars downtown underage than in class/weight room
Dee Lineris"solid" and people are not too worried about him. Unlike Yeldon whose best friend/friends was a Bama commit, had a solid situation to come into with little competition fresh/soph year and didn't know who an OCord was before he EE, Liner doesn't have those problems. He is a rare AU fan growing up in muscle shoals, supposedly loves BVG and Gene, and our second commit. The situation is completely different on a positive note, for Auburn, concerning external influences.
There are still the people who are afraid of a Yeldon 2.0 but it is a significantly different situation and highly unlikely it happens twice in back to back years. With that said there are always shady things that happen on the recruiting trail (that goes for all teams), so barring BVG orGene leaving or a huge losing season/NCAA sanctions we should be fine

Pike should move to defense.
I really hope we sign JJ for his upside and then get whoever else Loeffler wants at QB. Lord knows we need someone.

I'd be all for that, personally. And honestly, I REALLY like what I've seen of that Rettig kid.
