Honest question, didn't the coaches back off OJ because they got the commitment from AJ and they didn't feel like OJ was going anywhere? Would they take him at this point even if he wanted to flip?

I have no clue. I don't think anyone has really given a definite answer either. Not any kind of knock on AJ but I think you still go after OJ simply because of how much of a freak he is. We could recruit OJ as a WR if we don't want to take 2 TE's.

?@JHokanson

Auburn commits at #TheOpening: Carl Lawson @carlcarltp, Trey Johnson @THETreyJohnson, Arshad Jackson @lhs_8, Tashawn Bower @Tashawn_Bower.

-----------------

Should be interesting to see if Bower and Jackson can help their rankings. It's crazy to me that rivals and 24/7 are so far apart on Bower.

Me too. Rivals initially had him in the rivals 250. They dropped him in the positional rankings 16 spots from where he was causing him to be a 3 star. Really strange.

I heard that Chizik sent OJ a personal letter that said OJ went to Prattville, not Atauga. OJ got all butthurt about it and refuses to talk to the coaches.

True

OJ got all butthurt about it

Irritated, not butthurt. Sort of a "if i'm important to you then at least know where i go to school" thought on the matter.

and refuses to talk to the coaches.

Completely untrue. He's actually been to AU several times since receiving that letter.

Someone that acted as if he knew OJ shared a similar story, but said that OJ is a big AU fan and he thinks Chiz will be able to make it right and flip OJ.

No idea how true that is and don't really care.

I thought you were goofing with this statement but if that is for real then it is just ridiculous.

I just thought I remembered reading something on 247 that with AJ's commitment, the tight end spot was locked down and that the coaches were backing off OJ due to it. That is why I asked about it.

Can we just send him 100 letters in one day saying "sorry"

Kids..think they're perfect and expect everyone else to be the same. Plus they know everything, just ask them.

Didn't OJ recently say he was done visiting auburn and compared it to going to one girls house when you're dating another? Something along those lines anyway, twas an excellent analogy

I haven't seen a list or anything. I really didn't even know Isaiah Jones was planning on announcing this early, and Auburn has been after him a while. Maybe there is a list somewhere, though.
