Either ya'll are done, or you are prevented from throwing stones at UA for selling snake oil going forward.

I doubt a kid like Buchanan will go for being a 2nd QB in a class. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.

We won't take one just for the sake of lying to him. There's rumors of Jonathan Wallace playing/moving to safety, and there's a good chance Moseley will give up on football a lot like Barrett Trotter did. He would just be wasting his time if he returned next season.

That may be true, but if he's not scared of competition, he will sign with us. It doesn't really matter to me which of the other quarterbacks we land (Buchanan or Rettig), but I'd rather us bring in 2 this class.

I like Johnson a lot. The kid hasn't even played his Sr year of high school yet. He's got plenty of time to learn and mature physically and his potential is through the roof.

I love his size. 6'5, around 220 pounds right now. He could probably be around 240 after a redshirt season at Auburn. I wouldn't mind seeing another quarterback have the luxery of pounding the ball up the middle if the need is there. And I know he's not a runnign quarterback, but I think he would be willing to do it if need be.
Agree?

If that's the coaches word, then I'll believe it. But I'm sure the tune will change since I doubt Moseley lasts out the season/stays when Frazier is named the starter. If the situation changes, are they still selling snake oil?

Yes, but JJ is especially so.

A young man who is at Kentucky and a young man who is at Arkansas could field that question...

He's got a long time to fix the flaws he has. I love the fact that he really wants to be at Auburn. Those are usually the kids that want success the most, so I can see him working his butt off in the next 2+ years to live up to his potential. It would be a plus if he can enroll early and redshirt. That gives him about 2 and a half years before he takes a live snap to get to where he needs to be.

Agreed. I really like having an in-state kid and a lifelong fan at QB.

Jeremy Johnson's highlight page that AMM AU posted a while back.
Good stuff.
Very underrated as a runner.

This is interesting. I'm glad to have him on board, but Keith Niebhur tweeted after JJ committed that Buchanan was really high on us.
I dont think our coaches got good vibes from Buchanan or Rettig though. A week ago, we wouldn't have accepted a commitment from him, and Loeffler was still "evaluating" all the guys on his board. Less than a week later, he's committed? Maybe I'm wrong, but that's strange.

Let's call him our Big Johnson

Certainly strange. I think it's fair to say that our coaches liked Johnson over Buchanan and Sandberg. If they're thinking long term then I guess I can't disagree with them.

Makes me think they have a lot of confidence in KF being the man for the next three years.
Or we just simply couldn't do any better.
Or both.

That's what I meant by long term. It's my uneducated opinion that Pike and Johnson both will need some of those three years to get prepared.
But what the frick do I know?
