Saban offered him as a JACK linebacker apparently.
Which is funny...

Laura McKeeman is hot, but she doesn't know shite about recruiting. I don't mind looking at your avatar though.

well, in her defense, she's really just a pretty face to interview... she's not an evaluator.

I'm getting the feeling this Liner kid may end up being one of these drama queens with a touch of Spencer Region to him.
I would like see his talents at Bama, but also wished some of these kids knew what the word committed means.
Bama fans are the only ones creating drama here. Liner has said over and over that he's solid to AU, but Bammers wanna point to Yeldon and for some reason compare the two, which is beyond unfair. Yeldon was a Bama fan, Liner is an AU fan. Advantage AU.
I'm not saying Liner won't switch b/c this is recruiting, but ppl -- particularly Bama fans -- are making WAY too much of this right now.

I couldn't agree more.
Basically, anything that Liner says will be flopped around and Alabama insiders will do whatever they can to make Alabama fans believe nothing he says is true.
Now, whether or not they have a legit reason for this, I don't know...
I'm going to stick with Liner's comments and trust what he says until it's proven he's untrustworthy.

Exactly. Geez, Yeldon ruined it for anybody else that wants to commit to Auburn from the state of Alabama.

No more fear than Auburn fans discussing the nuances of Liner's recruitment. Foster's mother had to move to Auburn too, so he would be eligible under AHSAA transfer rules. Auburn University is the largest employer in Lee County. I choose to not delve into all the "conspiracy theory" stuff, even if I enjoy fishing with "Dee Liner" comments.

Beleive what you want to beleive. I honestly don't have a clue, if he is playing anyone or not. I'm just giving an opinion on the facts we know.
A few weeks ago he says he is solid to AU and will not visit other schools anymore. Two weeks later he's at Bama to watch the spring game and meets with Saban. He also stays with a current Bama player and spends the night in Ttown. All this while the team he is "committed" to is having their spring game and a huge recruiting weekend that he could have helped recruit his future teammates.
Again, not saying he flips, but blowing it off as nothing is just being blind to the facts. Hell, I think OJ Howard is playing us and will flip to AU before it's over. Recruiting is a bitter bitch that can't be trusted and you just got to take the good with the bad and not allow yourself to be floored.

The fact you felt compelled to answer tells me you are more worried then you even know. Don't worry they are 17-18 yr old recruits who are easily manipulated by men and hype. It is just football at the end of the day and so much more that is important in life. Stop your anxieties over Foster he is but one kid. Good luck

Were you not supposed to stop coming in here and bitching every other page about some stupid bullshite as a condition of your release from banland?

Good Lord we can be a moronic bunch at times. Bama will continue to recruit Liner until he makes them feel they're wasting their time. AU continue recruiting Foster until the same.
In the end, deep down, both sides fully expect Foster at Bama and Liner at AU. The rest is just fishing and flames.

Don't think anyone is raising issue with the fact that a school continues to recruit a kid, rather the overreaction and spin job that is placed on anything the kid says and does.
It sets up nicely for you guys though. if he flips we get a nice big "we take who we want, yeldon 2.0" or something else to that tune and when he in fact sticks with auburn you can say "we were just making you sweat"

FIFY
Not everyone is saying he flips. You've got to take him at his word at this point. His situation is completely different from Yeldon. TJ grew up a Bama fan, had his best friend committed to Bama and in his ear daily about rooming together, and continued to speak to our staff in terms that made them confident he would ultimately flip.
Liner - i believe - grew up an AU fan, has no such person in his ear daily about flipping and rooming together, and while he isn't telling our staff he doesn't want to talk to them he is not saying the same things to them that Yeldon did.
Most of us knew it was better than 50/50 that Yeldon would flip, while most of us (level headed Bama fans) recognize that at present it is considerably less than 50/50 on Liner.

Rettig or Bateman, either one is good with me. I haven't seen any of Rettig's highlights yet, but it sounds like his injury is only real concern with him.

It was just a torn ACL. Teams want to see his senior film before making a serious offer simply because he has no junior film due to the injury.

Liner might as well be in Crimson. I think there is a fair chance with Foster being in Auburn now and with Auburn's linebacker needs that he could end up in O&B though.
