It has been very difficult to gauge 2013 star DT Montravius Adams interest level in Alabama due to the fact that he has not visited Tuscaloosa this year. Today that changed and we had a chance to catch up with Adams on his drive back to Georgia.

The 6’3” 290 pounder from Dooley County HS was in town today for the OL/DL camp and came away very impressed.

“Alabama has always been one of my top schools; I just had a really hard time getting over there this spring.” Adams is very cautious in giving a list of his top schools, but claims that “Alabama is in good shape with me.”

Adams did not participate in the camp, but got a chance to spend a lot of time with the Tide coaching staff. “I talked to Coach Smart, Coach Pruitt and Coach Rumph. Really I talked to all of them, but those are the ones I spent the most time with.”

One thing is clear about Adams’s recruitment; it will not end anytime soon. “I want to wait till NSD if I can. I might do something sooner than NSD, but it will not be until after the season.”

This will be an interesting situation to follow. Alabama is running short on spots left for the 2013 class. Most think that Adams top schools are Clemson, UGA and Auburn.

Going into this weekend’s OL/DL camp visit 2013 DL Greg Gilmore listed LSU, Clemson and Florida as his top schools. You can now ad Alabama to the list. “Alabama made a great impression on me. They are now one of my leaders," Gilmore said.

The 6’4” 290 pound DL from Hope Mills, NC had a great visit to UA and will be spending the night in Tuscaloosa before making the 9-hour drive back home in the morning. Going into the trip, Gilmore claims that he was “not sure of his interest level in Alabama, but the visit went great.”

Distance from home could be a factor with Gilmore, but his recruitment and interest level in Alabama is now worth paying attention to.

Good post but I dont agree with this...

Julio/Lester, HCD/Dee Hart

Neither one of those were package deals. Julio and Lester arent even that close. Also, Lester would have gotten a schollie offer without Julio.

HCD/Dee Hart

Considering both of these guys were 5 stars with elite talent, I'm not even sure who you're implying received a schollie because of the other????

Talked to someone I know who is friends with Nkemdiche from Grayson and he said that Rob was a package deal. He was a bama fan from the beginning and only because his best friends are going to Clemson did he commit there.

Also, Mickey Conn has been pushing for him to go Bama. Nothing inappropriate but it could be a pretty big sway factor considerng he does push Bama hard on all players.

Are we a serious player for Mackensie Alexander? I dont think we would offer his brother unless he earned an offer at a camp... Also where do we stand with Beckwith and Tim Williams? I wonder if we will get 1 or both go to LSU? We are at 18, so at best add 6 or 7... Any guesses? Derrick Henry, Matthew Thomas, DeMarcus Walker, Langley, McNeil, Kamara, Robert Foster???

No clue where we will eventually stand with Nkemdiche, Adams, Crowder, Golson, Vonn Bell, Antonio Conner, 2 Louisiana kids TW and KB, Alexander, Gilmore, Melvin Jones, Larenz Bryant, Santa-Marina, Liner, and Walker Jones (gray shirt)

I haven't followed much of his recruitment, but I definitely think he's on the verge of committing to Alabama.

It's between Alabama and Florida, correct?

the affect will be to efectively generate a stronger self image and confidence in his ablity to have an impact after a couple of years on campus in Tuscaloosa.
