I guess with lots of the recruits in camp/visiting the information flow has slowed down a bit. Maybe more news will start to leak out tomorrow. Sure hope Tunsil is having a great visit.

Alabama tight end commitment O.J. Howard was among a number of top prospects to participate in the opening session of Alabama’s prospect camp. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Autauga Academy standout worked out on Sunday before heading back home to Prattville.
Howard and Reuben Foster committed on the same day during Alabama's July camp last year.
“It wasn’t hot or anything- we got to have fun and go out there and compete, so I enjoyed it. We stretched and then they took us around a circuit where you do different drills for a few minutes straight nonstop. That was probably the toughest thing we did, but I was ready for it though, because I was kind of in shape and looking forward to it,” detailed Howard.
“We went off to individuals and did our team stuff and position drills, so I was doing tight end stuff. After we did position drills for a little while, we did one-on-one’s with the ‘backers. After that we did seven-on-seven’s and that wrapped up my day.”
While on campus, Howard was able to interact with several members of the Alabama program as well as future teammates, including meeting quarterback pledge Cooper Bateman for the first time.
“I really got to talk with every coach- that happens every time. The thing that I was happy to see and do was talk with Cooper Bateman. He came down and didn't camp, but I think he’s going to tomorrow. I got to talk to with him and he’s a real good kid and is real cool.
“Anytime you can get a quarterback that can be an impact player, that’s a good thing. I’ve seen his highlight film and seen him throw- he’s a good athlete and a really good quarterback. Anytime you can get a quarterback like that, you have to take advantage of it. I let him know that he’s good- I’m sure he probably knows that, but I just wanted to make sure and keep encouraging him. I like him as a person and he seemed real nice.”
The top tight end prospect hung out with a few other commitments and top targets, including Reuben Foster, who he faced in .
“I got to spend some time with Reuben Foster up there. I went up against him a couple of times in seven-on-sevens. We were out there doing what we do best, which is having fun and competing. We were talking and goofing around most of the time. We really weren’t talking about football much, since we’re already playing football at camp.
“Laremy Tunsil was out there- he didn't camp, but I just saw him. Altee Tenpenny, Bo Scarbrough, and all those guys were around there hanging out.”
A trip to Beaverton, Oregon along with Foster, Bateman, and Tenpenny for Nike’s The Opening in July is next up for Howard.
“(The Opening) is actually what we were talking about- I asked Cooper and he said he was going and then Altee said he’s going, too. I asked those three guys and know they are going, so that was pretty cool.”
The four-star prospect contends he’s solid with Alabama and is looking to dial back his focus on recruiting and other visits for the time being.
“I don’t have anything planned and I’m probably done with visits for a while right now. With me being committed, you have to respect being committed to a program, so I’m solid. I’m solid- you don’t want to disrespect the program by being committed but not showing that kind of interest.”
Howard has a grade of 95 from 247Sports and is ranked as the no. 2 tight end prospect in the nation by 247Sports.

Lucky on Poggi:

Poggi has committed to Michigan.
According to Sam Webb of Scout.
The real entertainment appears to be between Mike Farrell of Rivals and Sam Webb of Scout. Mike is on Twitter calling out Mr. Webb for going against Coach Poggi's wishes and releasing the news before he was given permission to. It is quite entertaining.

Reuben did not receive that memo that being committed to that school means you show them the most interest... Im convinced Artie Burns used his commitment to gain attention for being committed to the best defense so he will feel like an elite player. I always thought Artie has elite speed with ok size and average coverage. Still would have liked to have him tho, so I am not going to act sore just because.

I don't think he needed attention. He's a top 130 player in the country.

Reuben can either be a shark in a guppy tank or a shark in a shark tank. The choice is his but alabama will be fine either way. I really don't blame kids rated that high for getting the royal treatment every chance they can. Hell I despise auburn but if I lived in opelika and had every coach in the country drooling over me I'd be over there a lot just for the "benefits"
