Bama offered Kendall Fuller today. He will probably be a 5-star in the next ratings update. He's a 6'1" 190 lb CB out of Good Counsel, MD. The same high school as Stephon Diggs.
Eta: Buccwild beat me to it. Can you post on BOL? I haven't heard from Shane.
And Fuller is not a 5-star yet.

Fuller is a 5 star on Rivals. The new Rivals 100 comes out tomorrow for 2013 class. Rivals 250 comes out Thursday.

Just got a response from Charles Power on BOL regarding Hackenberg's ranking.
He said I should ask the national analysts for more clarity, but he expects Hackenberg to move up in some fashion.

Nice. Someone please post the new Rivals rankings tomorrow when they release. I dropped their service when BOL moved to 24/7.

I think Hackenberg fits our system the best out of our top QB targets. Browne is very good as well but Hackenberg just looks more ready to play in the SEC. McCrary is good but I just can't ever see us with a Dual-threat QB. Take a look at McCrary's twitter page though, 90% of what he tweets about is Bama.

What's up brother? How's the little one?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, that Hackenberg is the best QB in the 2013 class. He doesn't have the numbers of Browne, but then again who does? Hackenberg has the best mechanics of any QB in this class and he's physically ready for the SEC now.
I expect him to skyrocket in the next ranking update. His father played with Mike Groh at Virginia.
He is my choice to be Alabama's QB for the 2013 class.

I just think McCrary would fit in better with a program like West Virginia or Clemson. They do better with Dual Threat guys than Alabama.

Agreed. Plus it looks like we have a great chance with him. I know the latest rumors have Browne getting really excited about the Bama offer and wanting to visit in the coming months, but I just can't see him coming all the way from Washington to play at Bama.

I like you in a non-homo way.
I didn't watch all of Max Browne's 16 minute highlight reel, but I did watch the majority of it. He didn't take one snap under center which contradicts every thing Alabama is about. Hackenberg's snaps were split 70/30 with the majority being in the shotgun but at least he has some experience under center.
Hackenberg also showed the ability to run, and run well, when it was needed. He reminds me of AJ McCarron but with better mechanics. AJ needs to follow through with his non-throwing hand more. He holds it high which limits his velocity. Technically speaking, Phillip Sims is the most mechanically sound QB on Alabama's roster but his knowledge of the playbook is lacking.
Hackenberg combines the best of both worlds for us. He could be an elite QB in the SEC if given proper coaching.

If you're gonna use bammer you should pull 4 a rival.
No true Bama fan would use bammer to describe themselves.

True, but wouldn't you rather call yourself a Bammer compared to a Troll?

Watched both Hackenberg and Browne highlights this morning. Either would be a great kid to land and both have a couple of negatives in comparison to the other.
Hackenberg has quieter feet in the pocket but his foot discipline gets a little sloppy in the gun. He does not seem to have that issue with foot discipline when doing 5/7 step drops from under center. Hackenberg throws a tighter ball which also gives him a little better vertical accuracy on throws over 30 yards. His horizontal accuracy his a bit off. He tends to throw to the trailing edge of the catch box on crossing routes and long sideline routes. That will get you in trouble with high end Db's he will face in the SEC.
Browne has a nice ball but it tends to get loose when he throws long unless he is putting air under it. The flutter causes the ball to hang and the WR has to slow up or adjust back to the ball. SEC safeties will enjoy that problem. He does seem to get a better ball when he rolls out on a longer throw. Horizontal accuracy is very good as he tends to hit the leading edge of the catch box on crossing and long sideline routes. I would like to see what opperating under center does to or for his footwork.
The speed of the WR's and DB's in the SEC will amplify the accuracy issues for both of them. A year of scout team work will help each of them with the speed and accuracy adjustments. Hackenberg looks like he can handle CFB hits better than Browne so a year of watching along with training table and weights will be very helpful.
I hope we can land one of them. I really would not care which of the two was our guy so long as we did not have to face the other more than once in their 4 or 5 years in CFB.

From national BOL article (free I believe) about tryouts for the 7on7 team out of S Florida. Anyway a quick note on Bama CB commit Artie Burns.
He's gonna be a good one

quote:
Artie Burns, CB, Miami (Fla.) Northwestern There aren’t many better looking cornerback prospects than Burns. He has long arms, an athletic frame and he can close on the football in a hurry. The Alabama commit is an elite track athlete and his speed showed up early and often on Sunday. Burns has a great cornerback frame and all the tools you could ask for out of a cornerback
He's gonna be a good one
