So no love for Christian Hackenberg, huh?
Oh well, I guess we'll just have to see what happens. But as an Alabama fan, he is the QB I want in the 2013 class. I believe I've made it clear over the last few weeks.
I would post what Charles said about his mechanics and arm strength, but I don't want to post premium info. For those of you with a BOL account, it's in the comments of the Out of State prospects story.
But again, what do I know?

quote:Im positive you cant get in trouble for posting that Charles thinks that the ball comes out cleanly and that allows him to drive the football down the field as good as any QB he has seen in this class.

At least you are willing to look. I caught shite for starting a thread about Hackenberg's abilities last week seeing how I'm not a recruiting analyst. I'm glad someone in the know was able to back up my evaluation.

Another note on Hackenberg.
His father played at Virginia with Derek Dooley, Tennessee has offered FWIW. But, he also played with Mike Groh, Alabama's WR coach.
The question is "Who does the elder Hackenberg have a better relationship with?" Dooley or Groh.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm bullish about Hackenberg.

Dooley may not make it to Signing day

If Dooley gets canned, then that really gives Alabama the inside track on Hackenberg. However, if Tyler Bray has a big year I could see him going to Tennessee. They are fast becoming a pass first team, which is very attractive to quarterbacks.
But he may be more interested in winning than piling up stats. I hope that's the case.

It won't matter. Dooley will be fired in December and Saban will offer him a grad assistant position at Bama.

Yeah... Sucks that recruiting is fluid though. What might be the big name now could drop off down the road.

And comparing Hackenberg to Max Browne, Hackenberg is SEC ready right now physically. Browne needs to put on 20-30 pounds to take the beatings administered by SEC defenses. Browne has "happy feet" in the pocket, whereas Hackenberg has zero wasted motion.
I asked Charles Powers if Hackenberg is due a substantial bump in the next round of player ratings. I'm waiting for a response.

Props to Saint for all the good info on Hackenburg, adding to the BEST 2013 BOARD on SECRb

Thanks. I know we've had our differences but you seem to be citing your sources well since our last altercation. If you want I will petition the mods on BOL to reinstate your account. After all, it wasn't me who pushed for the ban bet. Since you pay for access to their information, it's only fair that you be able to comment on it.
And FWIW, Buccwildbammer is a much better username than TrollTyde. I wouldn't request that username be reinstated. Stick with your original choice.

Sent a PM to Shane asking for your reinstatement to post.
Now, where are all the non-Bama fans who show up when we argue? We make nice and they are nowhere to be found. WTH?

Did you see any of M. Adams film?? Was wondering how you thought it compared to Goldman
Posted on 2/7/12 at 8:29 pm to BuccWildBammer
He has a higher ceiling IMO. Just as dominant against better competition and likely without anything close to the kind of facilities and S&C program Goldman was able to take advantage of. He's from a pretty poor area of Georgia, and I seriously doubt his HS has much more than a basic weight room.
