Tunsil has a top 3 of Bama, UF, and UGA.

That day started kind of early for me- I had to be up at four to head down for the junior day. Thirty minutes away from Tuscaloosa, I just told my mom and told my head coach I felt like it was right to commit. They said okay and that they supported me and all that good stuff,” said Tenpenny.
“When I got there, I told my recruiting coordinator, Coach (Mike) Groh, that I was going to commit. I met with Coach Saban, and that’s when it happened. He was excited and welcomed me with open arms. We talked about what being committed actually meant and then the academic side of things, of course.”

De'Jon Funderburk, FL WR, says, “Alabama is my #1 school. I really like Coach Saban, Coach Groh and Coach Pruitt.”

How many WR's are we expecting to take? I wouldn't think it would be many, maybe two at the most?
ETA: And i'm sure they would have to be highly rated/regarded by the staff.

Funderburk is really good but plays on a horrible team. Plus he has an awesome name

listed as a sub 4.4 guy.
I don't know how high we are on him but if he's been in contact with Saban, Groh, and Pruitt, I would think he's decently high.

Just spoke with Huntsville, Ala., LB Cameron Toney. He told me a decision will likely come next year on National Signing Day.

Well that's definitely longer than I thought he would wait. I wonder if he has a "commit at any time" offer or if it's contingent on other players decisions?

Who knows, but I would be surprised if were not full come signing day.

Hope he doesn't delay and lose a spot if he wants to come to Bama.
I understand the very highly rated players waiting until signing day.

That's the downside to recruiting lights out and the new 25 rule. Some really good players are gonna be passed over.

I believe Coach Saban had our class finished before signing day. In fact, the Alabama coaches were working the phones for the 2013 class on signing day.
With the 25 limit, I think most will have their class finished way before NSD.

that's obviously the goal but with the exposure some of these kid's get today, I think a lot of coaches find out who they are getting by watching TV on NSD. I think we'll see some of the bigger recruits commit earlier then they have been, but as long as ESPN is covering signing day there will be a few that choose to hold out until then.

Just thinking out loud here, but based off this change, I think someone talked him into "protecting" himself.

Someone is telling him to hold off on committing until the last minute so he can see how our class shapes up and thereby avoid being pre-processed.

If that's the case, and he believes whoever beside the coaching staff, then he has probably already pre-processed himself.

Think about it.
I'm not saying it's correct, nor do I expect to be lauded for this theory. Say some coach, college or high school, talks to him about the Philon situation. Toney has been rumored to be a heavy Bama lean for a bit, even at one point he though of committing early to them.
Now post NSD, this comes out about him being a NSD announcment for 2013. So instead of committing early and possibly ending up like Philon, he holds out til next February. You can't sneak anything on him in that case. If Bama really wants him, they'll pursue him to NSD. It could backfire on him and end up not being in Bama's class, but at least it wouldn't come to a surprise to him.
ETA: Robot Santa covered it pretty much...
