I'd be careful on who Dilfer is high on. He likes to pick players that remind him of himself. Not that that is a bad thing, but he's not the best talent evaluator.

i know this probably isnt the right thread for this but for what its worth i had a friend who went to one of the last spring practices and said that we have more talent on this team than any other team saban has had in the past and said that he wouldnt be suprised if we repeated...
also said the tj yeldon was a man among boys out there and is more impressive than ingram and richardson when they got to campus
not to mention this guy is an auburn fan...anyways i figured i would through that out there cause when he told me i wanted to fap instantly lolzorz

Difference between 2010 and 2012. 5 new secondary starters in 2010. 3 new in 2012. Along with returning rotational starters on dline and linebacking core we did not have in 2010.

I suppose. Repeating is a very hard thing to do, but it is very possible that this team could be better than last years. It is unlikely based off of odds, but it is still possible. IMO there are more athletes on this team than last years. Hubbard is an upgrade from Harris and having an experienced group of Johnson Mosley and Depriest could be better than last years core as a whole. Dickson will be a downgrade from Upshaw, but no one can say until he is tested. The Dline will be improved and experienced as well. The secondary will not be as good and that was the problem in 2010, but Alabama was 4 points away from a title then. Maybe Lester and Milliner returning compared to the zero in 2010 will be the key. Who knows. The chemistry of a team has everything to do with success and from what I have read on leadership roles and the awareness of 2010 could factor. Along with not playing 6 straight teams coming off a buy week I felt like we got the shaft on that. But one thing that I do not agree with are these sports writers that are convinced that Alabama loses more talent than LSU. They lost Randle, Brockers, Taylor, Claiborne, Peterson, and some of the oline, along with all of their linebackers... I think that is right, but it could be a little off. I think Alabama and LSU will both be undefeated going into next years game again and the winner will be national champion... unless hahaha...

yeah i agree with everything you have said...i think on offense we could be better than last year...defensively i think we could be as good or maybe a little bit better thanlast year if thats possible but it all depends on how quick our younger secondary players grow up which like you said was a problem in 2010...
also our wide recivers are a question mark in my opinion as well but if we can get two of them to step up this year we will be fine there and i expect amari cooper to suprise a bunch of ppl this upcoming year...i hear his route running ability is off the charts for a true freshman

We'll have a good defense this year, but no way in hell will it be better than last years.
ETA: just to clarify, last years defense is the best defense I've ever seen IMO. I do expect us to have a top ten defense at a minimum, but I don't expect them be better than the 2011 crew.

yeah i dont expect our D to be better than last years but i do think we have just as many athletes on the field...but experience we play a big part...i think potentially we could be as good but prolly not better
