When will you be releasing you're rankings?
Posted on 2/28/12 at 2:41 pm to TreyAnastasio
Not sure. Won't be for a while though.

Be sure to keep me updated. I like to put together a composite ranking. Wouldn't be complete without yours.

Sure man. I just like to give it some time to see some of these upcoming combines. I like to see what some of these kids actual measurements are.

I agree, although a top flight corner is my second biggest concern in this class and we aren't really on one. I've thought Drake was moving to corner since the moment we took Ty Jones' commit

Do you know the guy that started the Calloway thread on BOL? Is his info legit?
I don't know what the BOL thread had to say but back on 1/6/2012 in NOLA, Brent said in an interview he was "willing to move to another spot on the team". Lets hope he has been packing on the muscle the last 6 weeks to make a run at SAM this spring before the new class comes in and leaves him with no options.

Make sure you post in the thread I just created. Give your ideas on the composite rankings you had mentioned.

Maurice Smith (Sugar Land, Texas/Dulles) just texted me to let me know that Nick Saban verbally offered within the last 20-minutes or so.
LSU, Arkansas, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Baylor and others have offered. Texas didn't offer on February 25 junior day, but I expect them too in the near future.

Smith, 5-11, 176-178 and 4.57 (at US Army Combine) said he will be visiting Alabama for sure, but he doesn't know when.
Went to Nebraska Feb 17-18 and Texas Feb 25.

Unfortunately for the Crimson Tide, Liner grew up an Auburn fan, and it didn't take long for the in-state star to choose the Tigers. He gave a verbal commitment to AU coach Gene Chizik last June. "I've been an Auburn fan all my life," Liner said. "When I went down there, they just had nice facilities, and it felt like home. I got real close to Coach Chizik and my defensive line coach." Auburn might have won the first round, but it's a long time until the end of the fight, and the Alabama coaching staff hasn't stopped battling. UA coach Nick Saban reached out to Liner last week and encouraged the top prospect to visit Tuscaloosa this spring for one of the Tide's practices. Liner is not sure if or when he will visit, but he is intrigued by the Alabama coach. "I mean, it's Coach Saban," Liner said. "With Saban, we've got a real close connection, but I want to get closer to him. He was just wanting me to come down and visit again. He said that I'm a real good player, and that's what he's looking for."

Will he stick with his commitment to the Tigers, or will he spurn his favorite team and flip to the Crimson Tide? "It's going to probably be like every other kid when it comes down to it," Basden said. "You'll never know. I think he is firmly committed right now, but they're kids. What does tomorrow bring? I don't have a crystal ball. I don't know." Only time will tell.

“It was a different experience from the first time I went because I got to meet the new offensive coordinator, Coach (Scot) Loeffler, and I really got to see a different side of Auburn,” Howard said. “I got to go to the basketball game, hang out with the coaches and I just had a lot of fun.” Although he enjoyed the visit, Howard said he remains firm with his commitment to Alabama.
quote:
“The way I look at it, Alabama has a new offensive coordinator also, so when the season comes around this year, I’m just going to look and really see which offense best fits me as a tight end, and I’m going to go from there.” Howard plans to return to both schools this spring and watch each team practice, focusing on the new offensive coaches and watching their schemes.
quote:
“They never told me not to go, but they just wanted to make sure that I don’t get caught up in the other side with Auburn,” Howard said. “I think it’s really respectful because with a lot of recruits, the school allows them to visit (other schools), but they don’t want them to.”
