Do not consider NFL careers. Just the best 5 overall players from 2006-2012.

1. Cam Newton
2. Tim Tebow
3. Darren McFadden
4. Patrick Peterson
5. Johnny Manziel

If I did a top 10 it would go:
6. AJ Green
7. Percy Harvin
8. Trent Richardson
9. Nick Fairley
10. Jadeveon Clowney

Fairley>Peterson, IMO

He kept AU from giving up 50 a game and made a ton of huge plays.

After this year you'll probably be able to have Clowney up there, but for their careers Glenn Dorsey accomplished more at this point.

Unless you're just going off "best" player as by talent... then yea.

I did a quick edit and put Clowney where he should be. You are right.

I know I'll catch hell from the "0-97 vs. ranked teams" bullshitters, but after this year I think Aaron Murray will belong in the top 10.

I don't think I would even have him in my top 20.

I think he would be top 15, especially since after this season he'll be one of the winningest in league history with most of the passing records in his name.

There is not a single statistic of Mathieu that would place him in the top 5 or 10 SEC players over the last 7 years.

Other than forcing fumbles and returning punts, he was basically worthless.

Top 3:

Cam
Tebow
DMac

Hard to pick the last two between:

AJ Green
Fairley
Clowney
Julio
