This makes more sense. I was always told LSU and MSU accepts everyone

Well mine IS applying for colleges. Its her choice and I am pretty sure she is going to Auburn which is fine, it will save me on sorority dues, or Ole Miss. She is applying to Bama but she said it is just too big now. Going to apply to Vandy but not sure her ACT is going to be good enough. I dont want her going to LSU, MSU, South Carolina or TAMU. Any other SEC school is fine. Really hoping she picks Ole Miss though

Dude - all SEC schools have value. I bet MSU baseball games are fun as hell also.

I don’t care if baseball games are fun lol they aren’t going there to watch baseball games

Ha. LSU is the worst school in the SEC. I would go to both MS or UAB over LSU.

Ok. Maybe they are going there for a specific major…

None. I'd want them to do their undergrad at a community college first.

Probably true. I know that for rich ATL kids, if you can’t get into UGA, you go to Auburn, Bama, or Tennessee, and if you can’t get into those you go to LSU, Ole Miss, or State

If outside the top 100, why bother? Send them to community college and give them the cash difference to get a head start in life.

It's amazing how competitive it is in GA now since the Hope Grant started. I have coworkers with kids who graduated HS with a 4.0 GPA and even KSU rejected them.

Same thing has been happening in TN since we got Hope in 2003. We're just years behind where Georgia is. But it's nuts seeing kids from good high schools with good grades end up at places like UTC because they can't get into UTK. Definitely wasn't that way when I was in high school

Tennessee actually has a higher acceptance rate than LSU. LSU's requirements for in-state admissions are very clear. If you don't have the grades or ACT score, you most likely don't apply to go there.

My daughter went to Bama instead of Arkansas, mostly since it was closer. I learned to appreciate another teams fanbase and traditions.
Wouldn't have paid for her to go to Missouri. Wouldn't have liked it if she chose Auburn, Tenner, A&M or LSU.

Yep. UGA has improved enough that a lot of people are choosing free tuition at UGA over $55k at Vandy, UNC, and Duke.
And similarly a lot of people are choosing to go to KSU for a year then transfer to UGA or Tech rather than pay out of state for Auburn or Bama
