Under the current model of college football, SEC teams can have either playing their rivals or having a favorable schedule to make the playoff. If the playoff changed and SEC had autobids, we could all play our rivals in my opinion

Gotcha. Yea, I misunderstood what you were saying.

And yes, on top of the history between LSU/Arkansas prior to joining the SEC, many of the LSU/Arkansas games in the late 90's and early 2000's were with Atlanta on the line. So that helped fuel that game a bit. Plus, for the longest Arkansas always stuck the LSU game in Little Rock and LSU fans hated that.

Definitely a great rivalry that's been lost. But do you think auburn is bigger than uga tennessee or LSU?

I would've said Miss State for #3 a year ago, but they killed the consecutive streak so I guess it doesn't really matter anymore. All I'd ask is that it be a legitimate SEC team and not giving us Texas or OU (or anyone who joined after 1991) for the sake of TV ratings

ETA: If you're asking who I hate the third most it's Florida, but that's entirely a generational answer. My parents wouldn't have had a third and my grandparents would've said Georgia Tech over Auburn.

It's imperative that Ole Miss maintain it's longstanding rivalry with Vanderbilt

Tennessee, Auburn, and either Vandy or State.

I don't know. I just chose someone from the old SWC. Lol

Arky really doesn't have a true rival aside from Texas.

TCU? Baylor? SMU?

People seem to forget that UF/AUB is one of the oldest rivalries in the SEC...84 games played
Between Auburn's rivalries with Florida, Georgia, and to a lesser extent Tennessee (54 games), Auburn should have been put in the East in 1992. Remember that back then there were two cross over games so there wouldn't have been the argument about Alabama having to drop either the IB or TSIO.

Aside from Alabama and State, Auburn didn't regularly play the teams that were in the West prior to 1992.

UGA is the only team we have played more.

IMO it would be UGA, AUB and LSU.

It has to be State. The two schools are the geographically closest in the SEC.

LSU and Ole Miss are the two other schools that people in Arkansas want to play. Whatever you want to call that.

I agree with you, this is part of the reason why I want Texas to play LSU.

For entertainment, new rivalry, potentially greater competition, etc.

Both states share a border with Texas. A lot of Ark hates Texas and considers us their main rival while we consider them at best 3rd. Nothing to gain from Texas playing Ark as a main rival.

That came way later. This only started when Carter was hired as AD.

Do what?

Are you insinuating that Alabama's three protected games shouldn't be Tennessee, Auburn, and MSU.

Mississippi State and Alabama have played 105 times. They are also the two closest schools in the entire conference.

This would be my pick but if it were Kentucky or Vandy instead of South Carolina I wouldn't mind....all 3 have lost to UGA a bunch....none of the 3 are particularly competitive.

UGA/USC UGA 55-19-2
UGA/UK UGA 64-12-2
UGA/Vandy UGA 61-20-2

I suppose you think that Arkansas should play Missouri, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt?

I never thought this concept would be as difficult to grasp as it is for some of you.
